More 787/737/A350 media blather

Paris Airshow?
Possibly, though with that being next week the "maybe" by the end of the month makes one wonder. With Boeing possibly announcing the ILFC order @ Paris, I'm sure AB would like to announce several orders, though.

At the rate this is taking, and how fast the stock is dropping, it will not surprise me if they say "We have decided to purchase ...., but we can't get financing because of the low stock price, because we are running a pi$$ poor operation."

I'm sure the world is waiting with baited breath..."what will LCC do?" Meanwhile the orders keep piling up and the delivery years move further out.

They have slots already reserved from what I hear.

Actually it is a big deal because US Airways is the North American launch customer (the only one) if we switch to 787 it send a very bad signal to the viability of the A350. Companies are watching.

What community college did you drop out of?

Aeroflot did sign up for the new 787, but lost their early slots. They are at the end of the line now. That gives Boeing 10-15 slots to deal with. Remember we are speaking about an A/C on one line in SEA. If Boeing goes for the kill and starts an additional line, lead time for the 787 drops quite a bit.

Uh, US would be the 3rd North American customer. Continental has 25 on order, Northwest has 18 with options for 50 and Air Canada has 37 on order with 22 options.

OOPS, after rereading your post I see you meant the A350 launch customer.

Didn't Qatar just order something like 80 A350s? At this point, I don't think an order (or cancellation) by US is gonna matter to the A350 program.

Today's article says that LCC wants to make sure it gets the best deal - so it's still negotiating with both Boeing and Airbus.

I hope (for LCC's sake) that it chooses the best airplane and doesn't focus solely on getting the best purchase price.

If LCC's History dictates, it will be Airbus. If they get the cheapest deal it must be Airbus. Whatever they do, I hope its Boeing. Look at all the demand for the 787 and the demand for the A350. That speaks for itself. Maybe the decision is already made with Boeing and they secured the slots, just delaying the announcement. Maybe the deal was signed back in April but Boeing wants to announce it at Paris, right in Airbus' backyard. Just My Opinion, which I hope I am correct on.

Hasn't Parker said that Boeing is offering slots for the 787 that would not be available to other customers (i.e earlier slots) since Boeing knows what an important order this is?

2011 I hear.
A350 is what 2015? Everytime Airbus gets the final drawing done, somebody goes by and shakes their etch-o-sketch. Please go with the 787, if they wait for the A350, LCC may not be in business anymore.

Jim our training dept in PHX is already saying it will be the new Boeing 787. I just hope this mgmt doesn't make another big mistake and go with a unvamped Airbus product. We need to look at the future of the airline, and I think the 787 is going in the right direction. If not, hopefully we will get new orders for the 737-900.

Wow! Whodathunk that those pilot instructors, nee former rampers would be so plugged into the future of the airline.
