The report of four South American cities, aircraft and crews from Delta to US Airways is now believed to dwarf the information being discussed with different proposals being exchanged between the companies. It appears that US Airways, United and a third unnamed airline may share pieces of Delta...essentially ending the airlines existence. Moreover, there is now significant airline senior executive corporate travel between ATL and PHX.

As discussions continue to unfold it will be interesting to see what transpires and how the Creditor's drive the decisions on Delta's future.

Regards,

I heard that Delta execs were talking to USAirways and United about carving up NWA's pacific structure.

Regards,

The rumor I heard was because United is in such terrible condition (Delta is already more profitable than United and will continue to be going forward based on United's $50.00/barrel reorg plan)that United is considering selling off an entire west coast hub, I'll leave which one to your imagination. The sale would include facilities, aircraft, crews and routes....and Delta wants to acquire it!

Wow. WT has another screen name. Hate to break it to you girls but United made money last quarter. How much did the insolvent airline make?

I'm sure that's it. Delta is failing to exist tomorrow, haven't you heard?

Seriously dude, USAirways has it's own sh*t to deal with enough with the stupid rumors...

Just make sure that they get those LHR slots along with the PEK/SHA....

......and perhaps the good ole boys in ATL will purchase the PANAM trademark, etc., and rename the new entity a proper "global" name.

707767,

First off(if I may), United would be the LAST carrier, to become involved with NW !!!!!!!!!

DL, is a few years away, from being considered for asian routes, from the US government(ATL/NRT excluded), AND the only other way to get into Asia, would be thru UA(who would'nt give DL "the right time of day", or thru NW.
The ONLY problem for DL with regard to(hypothetically) NW, is a 1000 lb. GORILLA named AMERICAN AIRLINES !!!!

As for US/LCC, the ONLY way they'd end up into Asia, is if they gey lucky, via a box of "cracker jacks" !!!!!!!!!

707767.. FYI,
Smoking CRACK is Illegal, and BAD for your health.

NH/BB's

If there ARE any future mergers, they probably won't be the ones you think. The TRUE merger deals are sealed up tight as a drum. We should know. 😉

Ehhh, they had their chance in '91 and passed on it.

There is something wrong about seeing railroad boxcars painted Pan Am blue and sporting the globe logo.

Guilford has taken the most storied name in commercial aviation history and turned it into a joke.

wow, picked the wrong day to stop smoking crack.

seriously though, I know what I posted is BS. What the topic starter posted is BS, so I posted something equally BS just to see what kind of other BS it would spawn.

That's very true. The ones everyone thinks will happen, won't, and the real ones will come out of the blue.
