The report of four South American cities, aircraft and crews from Delta to US Airways is now believed to dwarf the information being discussed with different proposals being exchanged between the companies. It appears that US Airways, United and a third unnamed airline may share pieces of Delta...essentially ending the airlines existence. Moreover, there is now significant airline senior executive corporate travel between ATL and PHX.

As discussions continue to unfold it will be interesting to see what transpires and how the Creditor's drive the decisions on Delta's future.

Regards,

We're probably going to get the boll weevil cropdusting operation in Monroe, Louisiana.

I don't think Delta is in that bad of shape to start the yard sale.

How do rumors get started?
they're started by the jealous people and
they get mad about somthin'they had,
and sombody else is holdin'
They tell me that temptation
is very hard to resist
these wicked women,
oohh they just persist
maybe you think it's cute,
but girl I'm not impressed
I tell you one time only
with my business please don't mess with you

I'll think I'll write my congressman
and tell him to pass a bill
the next time they catch somebody
started rumors, shoot to kill!

[/quoteJealous about what? Does DL really have anything that US would need? Maybe some widebody a/c. Now if we were talking about UA or NW... 😉

We're not ones to go round spreadin' rumors, really,we're just not the gossipy kind. You'll never hear one of us repeatin' gossip, so you better be sure to listen close the first time... "The Hee Haw Girls"

Ya know, if one reads the "report" carefully, it's interesting.....

"The report of four South American cities, aircraft and crews from Delta to US Airways is now believed to dwarf the information being discussed with different proposals being exchanged between the companies."

In other words, what our friend wrote is that the original rumor of the 4 SA routes/planes/crews was a bigger transaction - possibly much bigger (believed to dwarf) - than anything rumored to be currently under discussion.

OTOH, maybe he got so wrapped up in making it sound impressive that he lost track of what he was trying to say.....

not true. ain't gonna happen. just got an e-mail from scott kirby telling me that it would be ludicrous for us to buy some south american routes right now. i saw him yesterday in phl. he has been there since sunday on the ramp working on the baggage situation. he leaves today to phx.

Not that I believe the original post in this thread, but at the same time, why believe anything Scott Kirby would say either? Aviation management personnel take special secret courses on how to lie.

Even if it was being discussed no Executive will tell you or anyone because of SEC Insider Information rules.

Guess everyone loses sight of this.

How can you tell when an airline executive is lying?
