Don't know if "we" rebuilt Chicago. I think they did it themselves. As for San Fran, not clear how much "we" did vs. California did.

I don't agree with the aspect of rebuilding New Orleans as I think the city was bound to have a disaster, whether it happened now or later. They need to design the city so that it can adapt to the drastic changes in sea level.

Reinforce the levies and let the folks of NO decide if they want to move back. If it were me I'd take the insurance money and start a new life somewhere else. For those with no insurance, the government should provide assistance to rebuild, or move to another location. The government should only allow folks to move back in if there safety can be reasonably assured. Isn't most of Holland under sea level? Maybe we should solicit there suggestions.

Not all of the city is below sea level, so that part above sea level should be restored. The area that is now below sea level is an area that sank over time, since it is likely to continue to sink rebuilding without raising it, which may be impractical, is inviting disaster.

No. But it isn't subject to Hurricanes. It's a very dangerous sea during a storm, if your in it.

They will condem all the homes that are in the way of such plans, whether damaged or not, then bragg about how it was rebuilt! The thing that they will leave out is how all those that lived there before are gone.

This would not be an uncommon event. The English used a potato crop failure to purge Ireland of "excess population". We used disease to kill the native American population. Its cheaper and less controversal than genocide but just as effective. Just like the English blamed the Irish for the famine (as net exports of food from Ireland surpassed imports despite the famine) we see some blaming the residents of New Orleans for their difficulties.
