In press conferences that have been held since 12/14, the Connecticut State Police have identified all of the weapons seized from the crime scene at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

"To eliminate any confusion or misinformation, we will again describe and identify the weapons seized at the school crime scene," Connecticut State Police Spokesman Lt J. Paul Vance said Friday, January 18, via a press release.

Seized inside the school were the following: a Bushmaster .223 caliber-- model XM15-E2S rifle with high capacity 30 round clips; a Glock 10 mm handgun; and a Sig-Sauer P226 9mm handgun.

Seized from the suspect’s car in parking lot was a Izhmash Canta-12 12 gauge Shotgun.

The case remains under investigation.

In short, yes. Every one of these guys bought them legally, but any attempt to did just a little deeper into their history was opposed by the NRA. The guy on the left got around his on a "technicality". Us gun haters just can't win...want to ban the friendly little assault rifles that are just so cute and we are propsing tyranny....any proposition to conduct more than just a cursory background check....ESPECIALLY when purchasing one of those friendly little assault weapons and that's an "infringement on their second amendment rights". In essence the NRA put those guns in these guys hands

I know a LOT of people who support banning assault weapons, but I can't say I met a single person who wants to ban all guns. The only talk I hear about banning all guns comes from the fearmongers on the right.

I believe the largest school mass murder was in the early part of the century in Michigan when firearms weren't as readily available then as they are now and was done with a bomb.
