Well, no.

8 open upfront on my last trip over the pond. Family of 6 in envoy was on award travel. 6 nonrevs. That means that no more than 18 people up front actually paid for it. Judging by the gate dance that was done, I'm guessing at least half of those were upgrades. Ergo, maybe 9 people paid for it.

9 of a cabin of 36 (42 if you count the sleepers).

Enjoy the full flights.

I've had this discussion with CCY back in the day, when I was spending what you make in a year on TATL air travel. You cannot easily recoup this kind of lost revenue.

A newsflash for you: guys like Bob, Art, and I are not the ones buying the $99 R/T to MCO or the $299 offseason specials to Europe. But hey, if those are the kind of fares you want "filling" the planes, more power to you.

For a guy that wrote off US awhile ago, why are you still flying them? One light flight does not a proper argument make.

I fly them when it's convenient and cheapest. Happened to be in that particular case. Most options out of my typical airports (notably AVL) are going to include US.
