Continental Airlines Announces Nonstop Service Between Salt Lake City and Its New York Hub
HOUSTON, March 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL) today announced that it will begin daily nonstop service between Salt Lake City and the airline''s New York hub, Newark Liberty International Airport, effective June 12.
Continental will operate a 124-seat Boeing 737-700 on the route, with flights timed for convenient connections at Liberty to and from dozens of destinations throughout the United States, Canada and Europe. Continental flight 1861 will depart Liberty International at 4:50 p.m. and arrive in Salt Lake City at 7:43 p.m. Return service begins June 13. Continental flight 1848 will depart Salt Lake City at 8:50 a.m. and arrive at Liberty International at 3:18 p.m.
Continental offers the most flights of any airline from the New York City area and operates the only major airline hub in the region, with more than 350 daily departures from Liberty International and extensive connections throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. AirTrain offers a convenient, 20-minute rail link to New York Penn Station from Liberty International -- the only airport with direct rail service to mid-town Manhattan.
The new nonstop service between Salt Lake City and Liberty International complements a current schedule of three daily nonstops between Salt Lake City and Continental''s Houston hub, George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
