No deal for maintance or stores

Buck, you always like to talk about the unions giving democrats money and bring politics into something where politics has nothing to do with it. You know why unions don't contribute to republicans? Because republicans are looking to bust unions, which would make one wonder why you would support people out to destroy you? You love reagan, who was a union buster, yet you support AMFA. You truly are one confused individual.

Actually I would prefer that the union let me decide for myself where my dues go.

Politics has everything to do with it. Every Federal, State and even Local election, "my" union, burns the midnight oil at the sign shop to crank out free advertising for their candidates of choice.

Could list the accomplishments that current administration has achieved for labor, especially in my case airline mechanic labor?

Reagan was one of the best presidents this country had ever had. If the unions would have kept their commitments to each other, I believe the outcome at PATCO would have been different.

It is you that continues to support the failed experiments of the AFL-CIO their socialistic methodology.

As for the Republicans, they have yet to perform for labor, but as you pointed out they do not do that. I could go on, but I have already exceeded my promise of leaving the topic.

Do you have any information concerning the Stores and M&R negotiations?

If you were AMFA you would have a group of observers to get the infomation from. Now your going to have to rely on the TWU without open negos to the membership, Hmmmm, will they tell you everything? You would know this if you had members at the table with open negos.

Let me tell you something SW....That drove NW CRAZY when we were in negotiations. They could not deal with observers watching. No back door deals like the IAm was used to doing.

It drove UAL nuts as well.
They hated the 'observer notes' posted by AMFA Local 9.

Your frustration with the lack of results from dues being wasted on political influence is understandable. But how else cana a union even attempt to counteract the money that corporations buy influence with? If left to individuals there would be zero influence bought. It would seem it has to be bought as an organization.

Yes, all things must be bought.

Throughout my career, my representative has yet to ask my permission how it uses my money.

I was even told years ago from a steward from Local 514, that the union does contribute to labor friendly Republicans.

BUCK,
"Labor friendly Republicans"

Jesus, When was "that" egg ever hatched ?????????

I thought you might come knocking. Your correct, labor friendly Republicans came out of Local 514 some years ago. I am going to attempt to check my politics for a time. I have a loftier goal these days.

"AMR Pilot Union Board Considers Whether to Send Offer for Vote"

I like the AMFA "No Back Door Deals" policy and having observers at the negotiating table. Rumors have Jim Little signing a deal at the last second so the buyout will be $70K. Good luck with that fairy tale.

Of course it is a fairy tale. However when you can save so much money by truly compensating at the lowest level compared to your peers, possibly the money is available to make early out payouts.

* Decision on contract rests with bankruptcy judge
* Pilots join flight attendants in rejecting offer
NEW YORK, June 20 (Reuters) - Unionized pilots at American Airlines have rejected the carrier's final contract offer, leaving it to a judge to decide whether to grant the company's request to vacate the labor group's collective bargaining agreement in bankruptcy court.
The Allied Pilots Association said on Wednesday that its board of directors voted 11 to 5 against approving management's "final offer" for a tentative deal.
The board cited a lack of specifics "in various areas" and the need for more time to analyze contract provisions and related language, the union said in a statement.
New York bankruptcy Judge Sean Lane is expected to rule on Friday on American's motion to void the current pilot contract and impose tentative terms.
Flight attendants have also spurned management's last offer and will have their case decided by the court as well. Unionized ground workers have yet to decide whether to accept a final proposal.
American had no immediate comment on the decision by pilots.
The carrier filed for bankruptcy in November and is seeking $1.25 billion in annual labor cost savings to compete more effectively with rivals who previously restructured in court. Most of those savings will come from unionized workers.

Who has the match and arsonist tendencies?

It wont take much, there is plenty of accelerant!
