Sniffle, Sniffle,

I thought the photos I saw showed law enforcement officers right there watching the whole event.

Seems if the law was broken the Officers would have taken action there on the spot?

Poor little Scabs.

Remember, "Everything is running smooth and the strike is NOT having an impact"

There was an arrest for blocking traffic, read the news sometime. This is different, its a suit against the union for violating state law.

OMG,

Police Officers no longer enforce "state law"? 😱

Ludwig says he has met with lawyers regarding the lawsuit and is confident that Northwest doesn't have a case.

Northwest officials could not be immediately reached for comment.

Yes, they make labor relation law decisions every day... 😛

OK, so you know everything about this issue.

What is the remedy being sought by the lawsuit?

Basically that they stop threating public safety....

"While AMFA members are entitled to picket peacefully, Northwest believes that it is improper to engage in actions that threaten the safety of people and property.."

P.S. Yes, even I find their concern with public safety a bit ironic. PTO are you a legal eagle for NW. Was this your idea? 😀

Northwest Airlines Statement
Sept. 5, 2005

Northwest Airlines has filed suit in State District Court (Hennepin) seeking to prevent members of the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) from continuing to engage in, by their own public statements, acts of civil disobedience.

While AMFA members are entitled to picket peacefully, Northwest believes that it is improper to engage in actions that threaten the safety of people and property, and interfere with safe operation of vehicles on public roadways.

Northwest believes that it is improper to engage in actions that threaten the safety of people and property

AMFA received papers of the lawsuit Friday night, Ludwig said.

Ludwig said he met with attorneys on Sunday and Monday and believes that Northwest doesn't have a case.

"We didn't break any laws," he said. "We worked with police at all locations. If we had broken the law, the police would have put us in jail."

Northwest officials could not be immediately reached for comment Monday afternoon.

Why would you post a picture that is detremental to your union bro's. This is an old picture. Obviously the work done here was done by (S)Amfa members. You guys are shooting yourself in the foot.

Boroscope, fyi...the 747-200's are not maintained by AMFA members. All heavy maintenance is performed by 3rd party maintenance overseas which just so happens to be the work AMFA is trying to bring back in house.

That's right AMFA Members do not maintain this aircraft.

Remember Though, when the decision is made to do the work overseas...

Northwest believes that it is improper to engage in actions that threaten the safety of people and property

Do you get it now Borescope?

Also, that picture is less than a month old!

Obviously Boresope favors unions that are never sued by companies. He probably prefers unions like the TWU and IAM that accept million dollar payoffs for multimillion(billion?) dollar concessions.

Only NWA would try to tell striking employees how to picket.

According to the AMFA web site, no members are listed for SASCO in Singapore or HAECO in Hong Kong, the two locations where 747-200s owned by NWA are maintained.

Since NWA began sending work to these places in 1998, NWA mechanics have been warning of the shoddy maintenance discovered on the airplanes worked there and documenting the same in the aircraft records.
