NW will end its 2x CRJ service on PIT-MKE on August 21.

Now lets see how the PIT folks will turn this into a good thing. 🙄

Very simple...SWA will start 4 times a day service...charge 29 bucks for the ticket...cram 120+ pax onboard and the people of Pittsburgh will think this is great!!!!

That's how Pittsburgh people will spin it into something good!

Of course, WN doesn't serve MKE. But I'm sure they'll start, just to make the PIT folks happy. Right after they start CLT... 😛

As a Burgh resident let me spin it for you.............who cares. How's that?

They don't have to--YX still runs 3x/day to MKE. 😛

And DL and FL still serve ATL, but that didn't stop people from bitching about US cutting their service.

customers or employees?

Those of your former customers in PIT are well versed in flying the other carriers. No need for any of us to piss and moan anymore. We got over it. So should you.

More cuts means more business for WN, AL, NW, DL, AA etc, etc.

No more crying coming from PIT anymore. We got over US.

And YES I do continue to fly US weekly. More connections just makes me a US1 much more quickly.

You seem to have me confused with someone who works for US.

Not in this corner. It's more like reiteration of something that the PIT folks apparently have known for some time, but US lost site of in it's attempt to extort PIT in the first bankruptcy--the traffic is there. Witness ATL, where DL runs 5 or 6 MD-80 a day, and a few RJs, plus whatever 717s FL runs.

You're forgetting that a great deal of that traffic is going PIT-ATL- beyond. Just like the PIT-CLT- beyond flights. There is/was limited INBOUND PIT traffic for US to connect ATL customers to.

Currently on a 6 segment trip with Midwest and their inflight service frankly blows the doors off US Airways.

The 717 is much nicer than the EMB 170, with the all leather Recaro Seats and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. The quality and price of their "buy-on-board" is far better than US now that they dumped the caterer that US uses. Beer is $4 instead of $5 and the liquor is a 2 once mini for $5 instead of 1.5oz. I believe.

Decided to fly this trip PHL-MKE-MSP on Midwest instead of US because I'm just not paying more to sit on a CRJ 200 for 3 hours & 6 minutes, when I can ride 2 717's to MSP with near F/C comfort with a total travel time of 3 hours and 57 minutes.

The front line people are just as helpful and friendly. Midwest is a great little airline. I hopw they succeed

Bob, I'm not sure I read your post correctly, Please forgive me if I mis-understood you.

Are you saying that you would rather fly a Direct flight rather than a Non-Stop flight ?

I didn't realize it took over 3 hrs. to fly non-stop from PHL-MSP..
I just flew from CLT to IND and it took 1 hr. 15 min.
