if only we all knew how you really felt when someone works your job when you refuse to.

Exactly what is it that you do Kev.

Crew Chief on the ramp. The same thing I did last time you asked.

That would be the work group you bash here.

Here's a couple of my favorite quotes from you. To wit:

The rampers here are a unionized position that in my opinion could be totally eliminated.

I see a tremendous amount of waste here that if eliminated could save the company millions possibly hundreds of millions a year.

Well, I know a great way NW could have saved $107 million, but since you have such a great plan, why not submit it to the BK court?

if the unionized rampers are eliminated, then how will the planes depart on time with the BAGGAGE? that is my favorite quote

Kev, I'm not bashing anyone I'm just stating the facts. I'm not certain but I figure the mechanics could replace you guys two to one or three to one. I'm not sure how many of you there are. Yesterday an aircraft sat on the ramp for eighteen minutes waiting for you guys to marshal it in. I could have brought that aircraft in with zero delay without setting my self back one single bit. I wanted so bad to go and grab up those batons and bring that aircraft in, but the last few times I got my buttocks jumped on for hooking up ground power and air had just enough impact to keep me from doing it. If you guys are doing this on purpose then you are very foolish because people are taking notice. Though you think you are hurting the company you are doing ten times the damage to yourselves. If you are doing this out of pure laziness the same applies. If you are indeed a Crew Chief I highly suggest you light a fire under your subordinates. If you believe you guys are not replaceable I have news for you. I can do your job and mine faster and more efficient.

I don't think the rampers and the baggage handlers are one in the same. They act as if they are two separate groups. This is just what I see on the ramp. If they are the same their numbers can still be drastically reduced with the mechanics bringing in the aircraft and either keep the baggage handlers on as directs or outsource the baggage handling altogether. I think you would have a hard time getting a mechanic to throw baggage.

Once again, It's SUPER SCAB to the rescue!!!!!

Good morning Red Tail. It’s not a matter of being "SUPER SCAB" it is simply a matter of observation. Something you union folk seem to be lacking and apparently NWA as well. How does a company operate so inefficiently and wonder why it is broke?

Your buddy DEAD BIRD sure is quiet lately. Did he finally run out of one-liners?

Rampers and baggage handlers ARE one in the same. How can you possible do a rampers job when it takes you three hours to change an aircraft tire?

Rampers and Baggage Handlers are the same and they can park planes as well as push back after training depending on how the airline and the union works. I know at US Air the mechanics used to park and push planes in addition to fixing the. nowadays the ramp agents do that in addition to load/unload. and in some station they do deicing as well.

Not if your current track record is any indication.

I'm not sure how many of you there are. Yesterday an aircraft sat on the ramp for eighteen minutes waiting for you guys to marshal it in.

Did it ever occur to you that the ramp is working short? Since you know all that is NW, surely you're aware that both MSP and DTW are short approx. 100-150 positions, and that the combo of winter ops and increased holiday loads is only going to make it worse, right?

That's because that work is in our CBA. Good on them for calling you out on it.

If you guys are doing this on purpose then you are very foolish because people are taking notice. Though you think you are hurting the company you are doing ten times the damage to yourselves. If you are doing this out of pure laziness the same applies.

See my first response. The company is doing more damage to themselves than we could ever hope to.

1.My crew doesn't need any kind of fire lit. 2. Don't tell me how to do my job; the last person I'm going to take any kind of career advice from is you.

Think you can do my job faster and more efficiently? Feel free to apply for one of the many open spots once your contract is up.

What an ignorant statement.

You're not serious, are you? As others have noted, they most certainly are one and the same. As for not getting an A&P to throw bags, you certainly seem willing to....

PTO is just on here to stir ####, trying to get someone to bite. He's also stated he would scab as a flight attendant given the chance.

Yes they are indeed one and the same. You wouldn't think it watching them work. Is there some type of pecking order as far as who does what?

I can zip down the line with the best of them now but I remember my first time out on a tug. I first thought that this was the craziest unorganized chaotic thing I had ever seen, tugs and trailers crisscrossing back and forth, buses and ground support equipment running up and down the line aircraft coming in and being pushed back in the middle of it all, people talking back a fourth over the radio in a barrage of acronyms. It was absolutely crazy for someone that has never been subjected to it. I think I have fallen into the groove very well if I must say so myself. This job is very much addicting. I had to call in my first "hold boardingâ€￾ call yesterday. I sure did hate to make that call but one lav was already on MEL and we had two more that would not service. I thought it would be a quick fix but by the time I realized it was not, time was quickly slipping away. I hauled blue water up in buckets on the aircraft to fill the tanks. I called MC and put the lavs on deferral to be fixed that night. The aircraft departed without delay, it was close though. I think I kind of fudged on that one but it did work and the lavs were operational for the flight. Boy how I do love the pressure when it is down to the minute like that.

local. I'm not here to stir the "$hit" I'm just here to tell you how it is.

Kev, I'm not here to take your job or bash anyone I just want you guys to get with the program. We all have a job here to do, so either you guys need to do it or get out. There is no reason for the animosity that exists between the different work groups. You guys that despise the company you work for need to either become a team player or quit and let someone else in that might appreciate their job.

well IM JUST HERE TO TELL YOU that your full of crap 😱 as usual you have the same tired stories of how you saved the day, thats why NWA is dead last in ontime departures and arrivals huh? your not only an Idiot, your an arrogant one at that and that makes for a dangerous combination!
