Nwa/iam Proposal ?

I don't understand why they are doing that. I know the routes they are doing away with are low yield (or no yield) but it has got to be affecting NWA’s customer service. You would at least think they would use the aircraft to increase the number of flights on their more heavily run routes. When flights are being over booked by twenty and thirty seats you would think there was room to add another flight.
The reason they are doing this is you scabs are bleeding them dry. They had to offer you top pay in the industry to get you there, when you consider paying you 32 dollars per hour plus a completion bonus and putting you in a hotel and provide transportation to work and back. On top of all that you guys are not half as knowledgeable or proficient as their AMFA mechanics. Do the math dumb ass Then go home and throw your wife’s boy friend out of your house, that is if she still wants your sorry ass.

You think 32.00 is a lot for NWA compared to 27.00 for direct pay? NWA has to pay more like 37.00 to keep a 27.00 direct mechanic. As A contractor NWA pays 32.00 period. As a direct NWA has to pay vacation time, sick time, personal time, employment taxes, workers comp. and a good portion of your benefits if not all. Plus they have to deal with a union. So why don't you go back to work "sorry...."

Did you overlook the part about the completion bonus or the hotel your living in. Do you think the bus company that takes you back and forth to work is free. I know your over inflated opinion of your ability's as an aircraft mechanic must have made the difference right. If your such a value to the company and they are replacing all the workers why haven’t they offered you the job. Good luck with your wife and her boyfriend scab. The truth is incompetent people like you are the reason Northwest is calling AMFA mechanics at home and asking them to come back .Your wife must be really proud of you. First you scab other people’s jobs the people responsible for getting wages and benefit to a respectable level and you’re a failure.

Do not cast your pearls before swine

Do not waste good things on people who will not appreciate them. This proverb is adapted from a saying of Jesus from the Gospels, “Cast not pearls before swine.â€￾ Jesus appears to be warning his disciples to preach only before receptive audiences.

Unless you are under tax form 1099 they pay your social security. But I believe in all cases workmans comp and liability belong to the co. regardless if you are a "contractor" or not. Plus the overhead most contractors charge for the use of their employees and it's more like $50 an hour. We paid $30,000 a month for the use of a tanker truck for a few months because it was "cheaper" than buying one. There is no majic behind outsourcing, usually just a sweetheart deal.

It probably was cheaper if you factor in all the A/C damage accomplished by those highly skilled contractors. 😀

Mark, you are missing the point of all of this. You need to step back and look at the whole picture so you can see the grand scope of things. NWA made an investment, they had a goal and was willing to go the distance to achieve it. Unlike AMFA was. They got their cake and ate it all, topped with ice cream and cherries probably even had some sprinkles on it as well. They will earn back what they spent in a matter of months. This went over so well you have to wonder if Dell was a part of it from the very beginning. It is either that or he is just that stupid to be suckered like that. The AMFA members marched right into it just like a bunch of obedient sacrificial pawns. You guys didn't stand a chance.

I have been offered a position with NWA, I simply haven't accepted it. If I can't get anything in writing I'm not going to. Why can't you understand that. I'm not tied down to any one single job and I kinda like it that way. It gives me control over my life that a bunch of people don't have. If I don't like a company I simply leave as where you would go cry to your union steward. i am responsible for my actions where as you are not.

At first I didn't believe that NWA was calling the AMFA AMT's and begging them to come back and I still think that I am correct but I have since learned that there is some truth to that statement. The MAP's have been calling their friends and co-workers that they have worked with for years and yes pleading with them to come back to work. They were trying to inform them of the reality of things here. Some listened and some didn't. They believed everything AMFA was telling them. This was done on a purely personnel level. You guys act like some secretary was sitting there placing phone call after phone call to people she probably didn't even know, begging them to return to work.

Thank you for your concern but no need to worry, my next job is already on the books. You see for me to get a job all I have to do is make a phone call.

PTO--

You've hijacked this thread long enough; it's about the IAM proposal, and not your twisted agenda. Back on topic, please....

Kev, I think you should really talk to NH/BB about keeping on topic. If you look back you will find that this thread went off topic at post #15. Yes this thread is about the IAM proposal, which in effect has everything to do with your job. Your job is directly related to my job. So everything here is on topic and all posts here has a nice even flow with the exception of NH/BB's ranting. Let me tell you something about the IAM and the deal being worked out with NWA, the IAM is going to sell you out. If the IAM doesn't get any help from the pilots, which I don't think they will, the IAM has no choice but to sell you out to insure the dues money continues to come in.

So now you're an expert on the dealings between the IAM & NWA? Care to share your source, or is this another of your great (baseless) espousings of knowledge?

Do not mistake me for someone who is naive. I'm well aware of how the IAM operates, and what they'll try in order preserve dues flow.

I do not expect ALPA to offer any help. McClain has a short memory. If we walk, it wouldn't matter anyway; they can fly all day long if they want, but there won't be anyone to check passengers in or load their luggage. Anyone that thinks mgmt. (or a 3rd party company) could jump in and fill that void in the immediate term, is delusional. This place would liquidate before the learning curve was over.

Come-an NH/BB, lighten up a bit. That was funny. Tell me that didn't sound just like Dell talking to the mechanics.
You know what would be funny 'Cods? To watch Mr. O.V. Delle- Femine make you cry for being a worthless POS scab. Of course, he has much more class than that, and he knows a simpleton such as yourself couldn't hold a candle to him in any stretch of the imagination.

You are absolutely correct Hackman, Dell has got it going on especially compared to me. After all I am just a lowly Scab turning wrenches for a living and he is probably in Florida right now, with the rest of the snowbirds, laying out on the beach, drinking martini's and counting the AMFA members money he headed south with.
