Obama Administration's Excuse !

If you were IAM didn't you get your dues refunded at the local monthly meeting/beer/pizza fest?

Maybe 700 can answer that one. You might have turned them down.

No, as a matter of fact no steward gets 'free dues'.

They get a monthly allowance for out of pocket expenditures to cover supplies and things not provided by the local.

And the free beer and pizza fest is only authorized by the members who vote on a motion to set aside money for pizza and beer, pop and coffee at the next meeting. After all, its the memberships dues money being spent and they vote on the motion.....and BTW, it has been voted down before too.

I didn't mention the AGC's top secret slush fund set up in an offshore bank......
The hookers.....man, let me tell you.........

I did miss the beer and pizza after AMFA was voted in.
(Pizza and beer was always after the meeting BTW)
AMFA only had coffee, tea, water, sodas and cookies.
WTF kind of a union meeting can you have with that? LOL
😛

If Augie was as cool as they claimed and AMFA was run by YOU, a floor motion should have taken care of that.

I'd prefer to get away from a profit based system of health care. Someone or something making a profit based on my illness does not give be a great deal of confidence.
Dr. Kim, Dr. Rashesh, etc... didn't come here because they were benevolent to Merikan Humanity. They were needed more in their own countries.
They came here for the bucks!
A couple of years with an HMO and slam bam Private practice (on the side).
Our Doctors are no worse.
If you want a 'pure' capitalist society, then the poor die.
Simple economics.

Sorry but I am not sure what point you making.

Our healthcare system is profit based.
Not very many altruistic hospitals out there.
Doctors want a good salary for their time and education.
We attract some of the best doctors in the world because of the salary.
Nurses go on strike for higher pay and benefits.
I belong to a HMO and they are building facilities that are fantastic. But at what cost?
They simply raise my premium and I can't say squat.
I could dump them and get cheaper insurance, but I am not a young man anymore and statistically, I'll need them in the next 10-20 years.
Yes, I "WISH" we could move to a non/reasonable profit system, but that's not going to happen.
Too much money to squeeze.

One would think the gooberment would be the regulator, but that hasn't worked out too well to date.

So, as I said:
"If you want a 'pure' capitalist society, then the poor die."

Hope that makes it clearer.

Much clearer, thank you.I disagree that we attract some of the best doctors because of the money. I think we attract doctors who want more money. Some are good, some are not.My mother became very sick a while back. She went to several specialists here in the state. Since she is a survivor she receives benefits from the German government. When they went to a hospital in Germany, a doctor there finally diagnosed her. Unfortunately she was diagnosed to late and the treatment failed. A German doctor also determined that the screw head that was broken off in my fathers hop had migrated and needed to be removed.Right now given my families experience with medicine here in the US and in Germany, I'll take Germany over the US.As for profit based. Not looking for altruism. Anything privately owned is going to be profit based. I would like to see hospitals and clinics operate like they do in Canada. The state owns the facility. So as far as cost are concerned, there is no profit motive. They operate the facilities as a non-profit. Drug manufactures have caps on the cost of drugs that are sold. I think they only way we can fix the problems is by addressing the cost of medical services. Other countries have done it and done it successfully. There are agencies out there that book medical vacations. The cost for their services are exponentially less than having it done in the US. The services include everything from transplants to cosmetic procedures. People go all over the world. What does it say that people have to go to India to have a joint replaced because they cannot afford to have it done here in the US. And the care that they receive is like a 5 star hotel. Our system is FUBAR. Time to get off our butts and fix it.
