What's new

ObamaCare Healthcare Professionals ?

Nope, defending critical thinking and media integrity, and opposing yellow journalism...

Having had a some dealings with the SEIU I'd be more then a little careful in my defense of their actions.

They are a 1930's style trade union that is not opposed to violence or attempting to intimidate those who speak out. I don't know of this incident in CT reportage is accurate. However I have direct knowledge of other actions by the SEIU that would support it being true.

When one engages blindly in union bashing it IMO show the person to be ignorant of history. Every worker in the US owes the 5 day/40 hour work week to unions. SO let's not be so quick to pounce.

Funny how all the missing name tags, clean linen on the floor, etc. happened the same time the SEIU went on strike !

Never said unions never helped workers in the past..............just saying today, they are no better than the company's they infiltrate and are becoming more and more irrelevant !

"As a result, the percent of the total workforce that belonged to unions fell from 11.9 in 2010 to 11.8 in 2011. On private payrolls it stayed even at 6.9 percent and in government employment it increased from 36.2 to 37.0 percent."

"Unions like to blame their failure on opposition from management but the fact is that the working people of American have rejected the unions' class-warfare, us-against-them approach to employment."

I think the recent union vote at DL for FA's and Ramp are indicative of the above statement !

That's just it, SH; there's nothing substantive *to* defend. The OP posted an article built on allegations and inference.

Like I said; when there's formal charges and/or convictions, then we'll have something of merit to discuss.

No argument here. It's those that have been deluded into forgetting history that need the reminder.

I suspect we'll see elections for both in the near term. My $$'s on the F/A's filing first.

I agree on both work groups filing again Kev, but as far as you and my son, and thousands of other rampers go, I don't see how you guys can win(and GOD KNOWS Kev I hope I'm wrong) because of the likes of DL's "Ready Reserve, DGS, and (the) Regional Elite's" !
DL's proud model(s) of OUTSOURCING.
HEY. W A I T a M I N U T E !!!!!!
OUTSOURCING, Where have I heard THAT word before ???

The company will spare no expense when it comes to hiring anti labor goons, perpetuating myths, and manufacturing opinion.

I say we try anyway...

Do you think the FA's and rampers at Delta would be making what they do if there were no unions in the airline business? The answer is obviously no. They make what they do because Delta wants to keep the unions out, not out of the kindness of their heart. Just like how mechanics at Fed Ex make $45 an hour. But you should already know this if you know anything about the airline business.

How many passengers did Fed Ex fly last year ?

Besides, you and Kev are not part of the 6.9 percenters who belong to a union and who are in the minority in this country !

I'll keep my $200.00 a month in my pocket vs. giving it to union thugs !

What union has dues that are $200/month? AMFA was 2 times the hourly base rate of pay per month. So unless they are making $100/hr...

The fact that you ignored the point I made tells me you know I'm right. And you don't know much about the airline business.

I was paying all of $46/mo., and would gladly do so again.

That is a "fact."

It was an exaggeration .................my point being, I won't give a dime to union thugs !

Didn't ignore it, just didn't waste my time replying to it but , since you insist.......Unions had their place and time and were needed at that place and time...............too many government regulations..........and more every day from Barrack and his peeps for wages and work conditions to ever regress to the levels they were, when unions "WERE" neeeded !

He knows more about the airline business than he knows about anything else.
I know I am capable of typing more than one sentence !

Good for you................now all you have to do is find a job that has a union !
