It's like a bad Dr. Seuss rhyme...

I don't know where things are anymore

Manuals that once were thin

Are bulging out of my flight bag and I can't figure out where stuff goes!!!

My favorite was the CBS telling me not to destroy certain pages in the FOM...... days after the revision went in!

Welcome to the west way of doing manuals. re-god-damn-dic-ules!!!!

Guess what, this is not the West way with the new manuals. It is a "hybrid child" of some pencil pusher who seats behind the desk. I am West, and I can't find anything, and if I find it, it is useless.

drrstrav - I stand corrected. I just know the manual has been Inflight Operational Mess since I started here. I can never find anything either .....

Just throw it all in there, and, a few months after the certificate is combined, just order new content. The $$ is well worth avoiding the headache, and it's tax deductible.

(The funny part is that the the manual wonk who is actually putting this mess together is actually convinced that it is a good plan and perfectly understandable. Of course, I don't think he can find the cockpit of an airplane with less than 4 attempts.)

Don't look now, but res is terrible~~~I know. Seems they changed something in February and I never got notice of it and now I'm paying the price. I'll tell you all about it later, but things change every day and not everyone gets the notice--not even "supervisors".

Bark at your chief pilot about it. If they get enough heat they will be buying all of us new manuals. It came out of Philly that they are aware of the problem and are considering issuing new ones under the single certificate. The feds should do an audit.
