Partial piece of the blueprint for success

Very good article. Rare to find a VP or CEO who was a mechanic and a pilot. I'm surprised they printed his colorful language :censored:

And, the other airline CEOs wonder why the CO employees would have followed Bethune over a cliff if he told them that was the way to go.

Interesting article. it makes perfect sense now how USAirways got tangled with AWA. David Bonderman is that link.

David Bonderman is Dave Siegel's best friend, and TPG was in stuggle with Dr. Bronner for controling interst in U during concession #1 and BK #1.

I did not know that Bonderman had controlling interest in CO and sat on that Board too. Bethune did the right thing, sacrificed himself to rid CO,the employees and the BOD of Bonderman.

Bonderman is a leech. David Siegel's friendship with "the leech" landed him a CEO job with Gate Gourment (you remember, Dave tried to bust the unions there too).

And I see who is pulling the puppet strings with Dougie Parker having Jerry Glass still on board with U calling the labor shots

I always hated Burger King.

I'm kinda surprised you didn't know that. AWA'ers had complained for years about Texas Pacific, Bonderman and Bonderman's hired hand, Franke.

What surprised me was Bonderman taking TPG completely out of AWA at merger time. He must not have smelled money, although he had made quite a nice slice of change on AWA post-BK, thru all kinds of deals where AWA stayed poor for bookkeeping purposes and the monies went to TPG affiliated companies where the profits were made.
