It's a crazy question anyway...fly international without a passport? Who would attempt that?
Used to be a regular thing, until the authoritarian whackos got into control.

What, like Canada and Mexico?Used to be a regular thing, until the authoritarian whackos got into control.
My friend went down to the Fed Offices in Philly today cause he didn't get his passport yet, his kids and wife received theirs yesterday. They applied for it the week before Christmas. I know this is not US or any airlines problem, I just was inquiring what would the result be. I wasn't sure if they checked going down and back or just coming back. He has over $5000 invested in his Family's vacation. I filed for my passport January 25 and got ine last week. Also on the news tonight here, the person who worked at the one passport location just got arrested today, for something to do with the people's money. I am not sure if that is where he went. And if that is the case, I think they should be held responsible. I just heard the news part on the news but didn't catch all the details.
I filed for my passport Jan. 25,2007 and received it last tuesday. But I don't go out to next month. My friend and his family all filed the week before Christmas, the kids and his wife got theirs yesterday, but he didn't get his. He went down to the Fed. Bldg. in Philly today. I don't know how he made out. Their flight leaves in the morning. I know this isn't any airlines fault, but I believe he should have started doing something last week aleady.Delays Increase on Passport Applications

Overwhelmed by unprecedented demand, the State Department warns would-be travelers to plan on lengthy delays in getting U.S. passports, even when they pay an extra fee to speed up the application process.
The department has hired hundreds of employees to process passport requests as tougher immigration rules have taken effect. Even so, the department says a crush of new applicants—more than 1 million a month—has inundated its staff and caused delays of up to six weeks amid the peak January-to-April season, when many people are preparing to travel during the spring and summer.
The new regulations, taking effect in January, require Americans to have passports when traveling by air anywhere outside the country, including Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
