Philadelphia - Is it better?

All of us here should pray to God/Vishnu/Buddha/Allah/Satan/Xenu  that the Capacity enhancement program delivers us from the cramped airport that is PHL. Everyone here should support alternative C.

Philadelphia deserves a much better airport and we should see that our voices are heard.
A is the best bet...it would cost to much and take forever to re build the terms...a new east west rwy would help lnd & dep's 2 at a time would help flow...still tight on ramp and taxi space...

Though I don't disagree that Philly needs a new airport I have to ask, "If we can't get ONE aircraft at a time into the air when there is weather what makes anyone think we'd get TWO airplanes at a time? I think they could build an airport with runways for FOUR to take off at once and it wouldn't matter until the airspace issues are fixed.

The bags are too heavy"..."I'm too fat to get in there"...."it's too hot/cold"..."when's my break?"

Sounds like the gate agents in Terminal F'd....Excuuuse Me??? Oh no you didn't....I'm on break! OKAAAAAAY????

Considering where they started PHL had no where to go but up. It is improving, Ramp is fully staffed for the first time in years. New equipment, although it does take a beating.

Problems will remain until management stops insisting a warm body on the ramp must be retained at all costs. If that point is understood, the quality of the workers will gradually improve through experience and a much needed weeding out process.

Actually...the ramp is "OVER STAFFED" on the pm shift. You have to hire 6 in order to get 3 to show up!

PHL PRIDE
If they'd build a Cheese Steak Stand on the Ramp, I'll come work there. :disguise:

Yes!
Philly has greatly improved.
I know there are folks here (mostly ex-employees) who can't stand to see US Airways make it. They can't stand to hear the good news. I've noticed much improvement going through PHL.

AMAN Brother/Sister!!

I am no means a kool aid drinker, but I wish all you naysayers with no proof and those that just hate us woould just go to helll!! I have had it with the negativity. Work to make it better like many have or F :censored: quit!! Helll, go to Delta, since everything over there is so perfect!! Jesus F Christ, you p eople beat all!!

The Philly airport has improved quite a bit. Kirby himself though even admits of the inability to account for all the employees at any given moment. They failed in detailing what is expected of each employee and their accountability. I hope they get that squared away. As a f/a walking through the airport it has done a MAJOR turn around. As for moral, it isn't that low at all. I have pretty nice, fun employees on most of my trips. You DO get the few that heckle at the OPR table that just feed off each other. Those types I usually just excuse myself and step away from. They will suck the energy right out of ya. I always say that the last VF was UNDERsubscribed. True things need a fixin here but to #### about it to everyone and anyone within earshot just makes me nuts.

Doesn't matter where you work or what you do-every place is the same. The reason? Although many people's opinions are well-intentioned, misery loves company. So, it's easier to sit around and #### about it than to try and find a solution. At least with a union, the reps give you a "voice" in the decision-making (at least in a pefect world).

Actually, it has greatly improved. Where I see service going down hill is DCA and PIT. I am talking from a pilots view. These last two months we had to wait 5 to 10 minutes for parkers and jetway drivers in DCA and PIT. PHL has gotten better.

You must be joking. I know for a fact that is NOT happening at PIT. We are getting bags and pax on connecting flights faster than PHL is getting them parked.

I see the marshallers at mainline and express waiting for their planes on the gates in the snow. You must be napping while someone else parks the plane.

My last two connections, including checked baggage, from SBY through PHL went smoothly with only little (acceptable) delay. I was pleased.
