FlightAware is showing the 4/6 PHL-SEA flight having diverted to PDC: Prairie du Chien Municipal Airport. Is this right? The runways at this airport seem rather short for an A321, there is no control tower and no commercial air service.

Any idea what happened? I also can't find any flights out of PDC ... is the A321 still there? I'm also surprised they would not have diverted to MKE, which is relatively close by.

FlightAware isn't always 100% accurate. If I remember correctly, sometimes if a flight plan is re-filed while inflight, FlightAware picks up the closest airport & will show it as a diversion. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong on my terminology.

I remember seeing a few months back looking at CLT when we had quite a few diversions, an AA flight from DFW-CLT showed diverting to Chapel Hill, NC. With the length of runways at Chapel Hill and RDU right down the road, it didn't make sense. The flight ended up not diverting after looking at AA.com.

They needed to stop for some more fuel so fret not...they didn't use the air field but the interstate next to the airport and stopped at Exxon 🙂

Just to hazard a guess, I would say that it is a typo. Since the letter C and X are adjacent to each other that it was in fact PDX – Portland.

753 and 1549 both operated PHL-SEA without a hitch on April 6. No diversions.

You've started these ridiculous threads before. What's the point?

Did they get that "Free Car Wash" with 8 or more gallons?
