Keep hearing this rumor? Can anyone confirm? This will be great for Tucson.

I've heard it will be for July. A 319 for the 1140 departure to PHX. High probability, but nothing is for sure until the schedule is loaded.

If true, it will be a long overdue RETURN to at least a bit of mainline on the route. A decade or so ago, HP had 11 TUS-PHX turns, with a mix of all four types then operated (320, 732, 733, and even a 757).

OH PLEASE let it be true!!

The bad thing is, we handed over our market share to Southwest on a silver platter.
Hopefully, we will still be able to fill the bigger planes!
Right about the time we started swapping out mainline for Mesa, WN began service to TUS.
We continued to reduce our capacity and they swooped right in and are now the dominant carrier.
It may be too late to get our pax back.

Will they have mainline employees at the airport? Management can operate up to two (2) mainline and outsource customer service, if the company opens a new city (4) mainlines can be outsourced. The company can outsource (4) mainline on a seasonal basis not to exceed (4) month period of continuous flying in a calendar year.

I believe the langauge you posted is from the East's CBA, and it would be covered under the West's.

TUS is HP mainline agents. A very competent group.
Its been all RJs there for over two years, now, I think.
That they have always kept the HP folks has been encouraging to us that they would bring mainline back.
Plus, they still have the contract for CO ground handling.

Mainline employees could be history if management/USA keeps the same outsourced way of doing things.I have seen it happen at to many stations and to many of my fellow employees kick to the curb for the sake of RJ’s and the American way of doing business

I was explaining US/HP CBA with the customer service agents

Write this down john john

USair mgmt is dead.

AWA runs USAirways. You have to look at AWA's past with Parker at the helm to make a logical statement on how things are to be run, past and future, for good or bad.

TUS fleet service cannot be outsourced under the TWU contract. They will certainly be outsourced under an IAM contract.

If Tempe was going to outsource TUS, you would think they would have done it by now. Besides which Continental has made it clear they want mainline employees there ( US makes a nice sum for handling CO in TUS ).

As for the ramp, they cannot be outsourced as there is an outsourcing clause in the TWU contract.

Besides, Who else can't wait to see the 57's rolling back in there.. Nothing like a 20 min trip......

If the ramp cannot be outsourced why in certain cities HP is worked by another airline or vendor?
