Does anyone know if East is going to be flying the PHXMIA route that West is dropping?

FLL is a more leisure oriented airport than MIA which has higher landing fees. Just another example of not wasting money where its not needed. If AA starts it up it will probably be more for their South American connections.Aren't we still flying to FLL if so it makes sence to pull out of MIA and put all our flights into FLL is that not a east side hub? they are what only 45 miles apart make no sence to fly to both. That was one of the reasons they pulled out of Midway.
When is this being Dropped? Isnt East doing the MIA Flight Now?
My family has RT tickets to fly PHX>MIA on WEST ..for Nov 06 I really cant see US giving up MIA those flights are always full ...My recollection is that they are doing MIA-LAS only.
Cruise passengers are seat fillers, but they are not moneymakers. If all the passengers on a flight were booked there by the cruise line, I can assure you the flight will lose money. What about *A connections to South America? And what about cruises departing from MIA?

I never will forget the time that my wife and I were cruising on Crystal from San Juan to Lisbon. The cruise line inadvertently sent an actual paper ticket for the flight from IAH to SJU via ATL instead of a "voucher" to be turned in at the airport. They were paying DL something like $200 for both of us for the flights from IAH to SJU.And, that wasn't that many years ago either.
Cruise liners are not money makers for the airline? I don't think so because US Airways makes a good chunk of change from the BCN and VCE cruise line ports. I only know this because I was basically living in BCN and every month when I flew back to the USA over 80% of the flight were people that were coming back from the cruise. US Airways does really, really well on the BCN market (not sure how well on VCE but if it is back this year they must have done well.) Last year when I flew back and forth from BCN....the BCN flights from May to Oct were always oversold by 20 or more people! That is not a joke at all. Many people took the bump for the free extra hotel and 400 dollar cert that they got from US.
If US was smart they would serve BCN year round as DL is the only other carrier that serves BCN all year round. I know in the winter months DL goes MAD and continues onto BCN and then does the reverse when going back to JFK.
Maybe the FLL MIA market is a different story I am not sure. I can only tell you the BCN market.
The domestic cruise business is a certain money loser for airlines, I think mainly because the bulk rates given to the cruise lines for "all inclusive" deals are priced below CASM.
