 ------ A fabric hanger, right in the middle of "Tornado Allie!"------ Who's bright idea was that?

AA T town... Is this for sure an AA facility or it being leased to some other carrier? Word we got was AA is getting out of MRO work and Delta is spooling up... They are interested in in acquiring part or all of Hanger 5 (old delta hangar) at DFW.

Military uses a similar design now. DOD standard is 65 mph sustained winds for 30 minutes, and these hold up.

Not sure about a direct hit from a tornado, but the same can be said for any pre-engineered sheet metal structure. Fabric might even be better because it will give, as opposed to resisting the and putting all the wind energy against the frame...

Kind of reminds me of some of the older hangar designs used by the US military.

Yes this is a 100% AA Hangar. It is scheduled to be done in June. Tulsa is continuing to grow and this hangar will be doing AA work on widebody aircraft as we hear.
