New Hangar at TUL

Rumors or facts ?
Can anyone confirm these latest TULE rumors ?

3. TULE tent will be for Drop Ins, Mods and contract work.

I heard that if they can't fill the tent with AFW's airplanes that they are gonna lease it to the CHOCTAW INDIAN NATION. They are going to call it CHOCTAW AIRPORT CASINO BINGO.

Are you sure it is 3 767 lines at AFW?
The truth about DWH. First DWH is not configured to take 3 767, C checks. Right now it has one 767 dock, one 757 dock, 1 bay big enough for a widebody with no dock and 3 narrow body bays. At this time we have a North American 767 in for a so called "C check". Since we've been there AA hasn't put alot of $$$$ into the place. I'm not saying it couldn't happen but at this time I've seen nothing leaning towards 3 767 lines coming this way. Anything could happen but i don't see it. It has lots of shop space, but right now it isn't being used.

If it were configured to hold 767's only, how many 767's do you think it would fit? 4 maybe?

It can't hold three 767's presently. If you have a 777 in one bay for engine change it blocks the 757 dock. The other two bay's you have to angle a S80 in because that part of the hanger is too short. Not as large as some would let on in all of the rumor banter. I think it might hold three 767's with some reconfiguration.

Could see maybe a slide shop upstairs as it once was configured for the Delta slide shop. Might get in a seat shop up their also.Guess the company just loves the divide and conquer banter around the system.Just watching the base against base on this website is enough to make your stomach turn.

Hi Jim jimmy Jim .

Ref, the cleveland letter 7-25-2008

10-4 got my letter from F.Cleveland yesterday afternoon confirming the 777's.
Also this information : American has notified unions of the elimination of 1,300 mechanics' jobs plus 200 related management and support jobs; 900 flight attendant positions and 200 pilot jobs.

You really have to ask yourselves...1300 mechanics positions have to come from somewhere....1300 is a large number...it seems to me that the overhaul bases are gonna take the brunt with this layoff... not saying the line stations won't be affected though,.

Title 1 for ever is right. It would take alot of work to refit it to handle 3 767. Since know work is being done now I can't see more than 1 767 coming in for a heavy check. I really can't see a heavy check coming either without some support shops which we have none manned at this time. The checks we do now we don't pull the seats so that should tell you something.

Hey Title 1 4 Ever

Latest from AFW, we will be running 4 check lines to make the yield improve on the 767. A combination of light checks as well as heavy checks. From the meeting ,it was stated we will be doing ALL the MBV work for the 767-200 and 767-300 product lines. Not sure what this means for MCI.
