Well the ramp agents at PI are now unionized from what i have been told. hopefully there will be a good contract soon

i wonder if the PSA layoffs had anything to do with this... the PIT union gang bangers held the rest of the PSA system hostage in contract negotiations....

PSA employees got 6.25 / hour while piedmont was getting 8.50 --- and PDT is non union.

i always though PDT worker & mgt relations were good....

if you had/have as bad as a manager as we have in my city, then you would understand why the entire piedmont airlines ramp is for union and im sure our city aint the only one one with the horrible manager

I worked in a few PDT stations and everyone seemed to get along.

then again, we're all kinda a big family in Florida.

I think this is the 3rd or 4th attempt the CWA has tried to get into PDT.

Piedmont ground agents are NOT UNIONIZED. The CWA is trying its best to encourage it but at this time there has been NO VOTE and there is NO VOTE SCHEDULED AT THIS TIME.

If you work for a company that treats you fairly and pays you well then you don't need a union.

This is Piedmont, Bob. Tempe doesn't care- they let us run autonomously with as much of the "out of sight, out of mind" whitewash the turd can carry.

A union is a good thing, but trust me... this company blatantly violates the contract the pilots use every single day. I mean they act fully contrary to the CBA at will. They also violate those pesky FARs.

For some reason, the wholly-owned culture is totally different than what Doug espouses in the crew news webcasts: They're contracts, and we have to abide by them.

Get union representation, a contract, get a good grievance chairman and a good system board of adjustment, and swamp the hell out of them with grievances when they start breaking the rules.

Thank you. Pretty much what I thought as I know several of them on the ramp here. But like I said if I'm wrong wouldn't be the first time or last

There is no listing on the NMB Determinations website about any filing for an election on Piedmont Airlines.

Moderator,

with all due respect, Piedmont is a wholly owned express division of USAirways. Not sure why it doesn't belong in the USAirways thread as EN employees are basicly "C scale" mainline employees.. only difference is their payroll is done at the SSO, and not CHQ. SSO handled MidAtlantic, PSA, and Piedmont, and for a little while DC Air / Potomac Air.

While its a regional carrier, its much more an integral part of USAirways.

just my 2 cents.

Your post and its points are 1) inaccurate, 2) speculation and 3) nonsense.

My question earlier in the thread was answered by another agent who works for Piedmont. Apparently, this card drive happens every so many years with little or no action taken. I read the CWA site release, and it reads more like propaganda than anything else.

If they do organize, then that's great, but they haven't yet, and PSA employees have ZERO to do with anything at Piedmont.
