NOBODY has any input on this? I find this hard to believe. :down:Hey all.
Here's the deal:
Should I go back and finish my ratings spending a lot of money in the mean time, and join the ranks of the Professional Pilot Group?
What does the future look like? Any advice is appreciated.

I understand some of the veteran's remarks on getting into this business, but if the business has you, how can one get information on the future of the business and its prospects? Flying airplanes isn't going away any time soon.
I'd like to hear from some of the more experienced personnel out there. AirInc.com is an excellent website, although they won't give you the time of day unless you signup for the $200/YE membership...
Thanks in advance. 😀
check them again!Hey all.

Ok, the reason that no one is commenting on this is because of all the guys that jump on anyone who is a pilot. I care about the young peoople that are trading great careers in computers and such to follow the 1/2 truths of AIRINC. Sure there are "jet jobs" but what is the cost? Go to the above link to find out the pay. They do not tell you that for the next 25 years you will be in this little airplane. Here are the questions you must answer: Are you willing to fork over the 50K plus for ratings? Are you willing to work for low wages and starve if you have a family? Are you willing to be gone from home 18-27 days and nights a month and live in a crash pad with 7 other guys? Are you willing to eat Jiffy/Jelly for the duration? Are you willing to miss your childs birthdays/holidays/plays etc. to fly airplanes? Are you willing to watch your marriage go down the tubes because of the stress and future dreams are not coming true? Are you willing to have your son/daughter tell you when they are 15 that they REALLY resent you being gone most of his or her life? Are you willing to take the chance of making it to a good airline only to be furloughed for 5 years and work at Home Depot while living in your in-laws basement with three children? Are you willing to spend endless hours alone in a hotel room and eat fast food for 30 years? Are you willing to hear the words, "Daddy, I know we cannot afford a birthday gift for my 18th birthday" because some scum bag has given you a 50% pay cut and robbed your pension while making off with HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS? Why would you want these things is my question to you. My son as a teen looked me right in the eye and said, "I would NEVER do that to my son" when asked if he wanted to be a pilot. SO, the choice is yours. I dont want to be accused of crushing anyones dreams of flying airplanes but only want you to make an informed decision. Good luck in what you choose.
