PIT -- HUB AGAIN?

Hello, This is my first post, so hopefully it gets a few good responses. Anyway, I was in PHX visting a friend and went to the new HQ (BTW, it looks great) and overheard some people (with employee badges) talking about bringing back a few more PIT flights to make connections easier and free-up some space at PHL. I didn't hear much as far as specifics, other the Burlington, Bangor, and San Diego. Anyone else have any ideas or thoughts? I really think it would be a good idea, given how much "fun" PHL can be. Thanks! 😀

Bringing flights back to PIT will only help the over crowded situation in PHL.

The O&D traffic has improved tremendously in PIT since the commencement of LUV flying in PIT along with USA3000 etc...the lines are very long in the morning at security with hundreds of passengers going through.

I believe that if U would bring 50% of the flights it took out post 9/11, keeping fares at rational levels, U would start to show a profit.

Just my opinion. B)

Thanks for the great replies. I certainly hope they do bring back more flight...if for nothing more that it would keep some of the FF happy. I'm glad they brought back PIT-SCE for example. Both times I was on the DHC8 it was about 70% full....

Not to be difficult, but anyone can have good O&D numbers if the fares are low. O&D didn't simply go up at PIT because SWA came to town, O&D numbers went up because fares came DOWN.

PIT is not going to be a hub any larger than it is now. Departures will continue to go down slightly over time. Sorry to disappoint!

But there are plans to make PIT the EAST weight and balance station for the East, under our W&B structure. PHX took over the west,LAS W&B this last week! Plans are for 2 W&B bases.

Glad someone agrees. Why must they take orders from some chump in an office 2000 miles away when the aforementioned chump can't see the situation on the ground where the lead is?

Sounds great! I was just referring to number of departures not getting any larger in the future than what you see today.
