I assume you are reffing to some Islamic countries/cultures that do that. You failed to mention countries like India that still have prearranged marriages. None of them are relevant to what has happened here in the US under the supervision of the Vatican. What Iran or the UK or any other country chooses to do is their business. In the US, a minor cannot give consent. Priest in the RCC abused and raped minors. In the US that is illegal. Most people go to jail for that. I do not care what religion they are. There are cultures all over the world that do things we would never even consider. That is their right as a sovereign nation. There are cultures in Africa that circumcise young females. We can speak out against it but that is pretty much it.

So it does not matter what happens out side US borders. The RCC violated US law. The fact that no one has gone after the SOB's is disgusting. You can try and throw out all the diversions you want but it does not change the facts of what happened. Children were raped and abused with the knowledge of the Vatican and the Pope him self.

I am not of the belief that a woman who is forcibly raped should be compelled by law to carry that embryo to term. I am not of the belief that a woman who is carrying a embryo with physical or mental defects should be compelled by law to carry that child to term. I am not of the belief that a child should be compelled by law to carry a embryo to term. I am not of the belief that the law should have any jurisdiction over a woman's body.

What this has to do with members of the RCC committing acts of rape and abuse which were methodically covered up with complete disregard for the victims is beyond me.

The abortion debate and RCC sex scandal are two entirely different things. The only real connector is the duality of the church hierarchy when addressing both issues.

When it comes to abortion the Church is all over the issue like stink on manure, sanctity of life and all of that being part of Church doctrine. So I guess it's OK in the Church's mind to be a pedophile priest just so long as you don't knock up some 13 year old and get her an abortion?

The apologists for the Church are on a very very thin moral limb. Catholic Bashing? Why bother? They seem to be doing just fine bashing themselves.
