US AIRWAYS STATEMENT REGARDING FLIGHT 1014

US Airways Flight 1014, scheduled to arrive at Charlotte Douglas International Airport from Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport at 3:05 p.m. EDT, has been quarantined by local health officials. The aircraft is an Airbus A319 with 112 passengers and four crew members. While en route to Charlotte, a passenger on board the aircraft allegedly claimed that he had smallpox. The passenger has been removed from the aircraft and transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
We are taking every precaution to ensure the safety and comfort of our customers and employees and are serving food and beverages to those on the aircraft.
