US AIRWAYS BOLSTERS ITS FALL SCHEDULE TO NEW ORLEANS

ARLINGTON, Va., May 27, 2004 -- US Airways will add six daily flights in New Orleans this fall, bringing more service to and from Charlotte, N.C., Philadelphia and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

In addition to the four existing flights, a fifth daily Charlotte flight will operate Sept. 8 through Nov. 6, using 126-seat Boeing 737-300 aircraft. The flight will depart Charlotte at 2:10 p.m., and will arrive in New Orleans at 3:08 p.m. The return flight will depart New Orleans at 3:50 p.m., and will arrive in Charlotte at 6:40 p.m.

From Sept. 8 until Nov. 6, a fourth daily New Orleans-Philadelphia flight will operate using Airbus A320 family aircraft. The flight will depart Philadelphia at 8:15 a.m., and will arrive at 10:28 a.m. The return flight will depart New Orleans at 10:20 a.m., and will arrive in Philadelphia at 2:07 p.m.

A third daily roundtrip Washington National-New Orleans flight will operate Sept. 8 through Nov. 5, using Boeing 737-300 aircraft. The flight will depart Washington at 8:30 a.m., and will arrive in New Orleans at 10:07 a.m. The return flight will depart New Orleans at 10:50 a.m., and will arrive in Washington at 2:17 p.m.

"New Orleans’ food, nightlife, architecture and music make the city an excellent destination year-round for both business and leisure travelers," said Andrew P. Nocella, US Airways vice president of network and revenue management. "New Orleans has proven to be a strong performer in a typically off-peak travel period, and this increased capacity reflects our efforts to get our customers where they want to go, when they want to go."

"These additional flights reflect the strength of our traffic base in off-peak periods. As the weather turns cool in the fall, New Orleans offers travelers just the right temperature for conventions, meetings or just plain relaxation," said Roy Williams, director of Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.

From New Orleans, US Airways currently operates eleven daily roundtrip flights, with nonstop service to Charlotte, New York’s LaGuardia Airport, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Washington National Airport.

US Airways is the nation’s seventh-largest airline, serving nearly 200 communities in the U.S., Canada, Europe, the Caribbean and Latin America. US Airways, US Airways Shuttle and the US Airways Express partner carriers operate over 3,300 flights per day.
