I'd like to jumpseat on a flight from SFO to ACV. I've heard that the EMB 120's used on that route have regular weight restrictions.

Any truth to this? Just wondering if I should look at other options (Horizon).

Thanks....

I am not a SKYW pilot but I have TRIED to ride on the EMB's of SKYW in the past. It is absolutely impossible to get in the actual cockpit jumpseat. The Weight and Balance is always an issue with the SKYW airplanes, be it an EMB or an RJ. The previous UAX carriers we had that flew the CRJ's could almost always get you in the jumpseat. Not so for SKYW, they must reinvent the wheel when it comes to W&B. Of course I don't think we have ever bumped a SKYW pilot from a UA cockpit for W&B so there is no impetus for them to change their system because it does not affect THEM. If ALPA did not make us take the SKYW pilots (funny that ALPA makes us take them and they are not even an ALPA carrier!!!) I would support a ban on them until they can come up with a solvable procedure to accommodate an actual cockpit jumpseater on at least the CRJ.

Definitely look for other options when attempting to jumpseat on SKYW.

RJ's are always weight restricted. As far as jumpseats, i always wondered since RJ's offer no jumpseats , why does mainline reciprocate when regionals can offer nothing in return?
