I would like to start a discussion about the Redefining Excellence Team that is going to all stations and currently in LAS. I am having a hard time understanding their role. The claim they claim they are going to make your station more effecient. In my opinion everything they have done in LAS has been detrimental to our customers. What are all your thoughts???

What have they done that is different?

For example in our bag room:
1. They designed a system to get our customers through the ticket couter line more efficiently. As a result the conveyer syytem can't handle the load.

2. They are trying to operate with les people in the bag room. In turn there is not enough people to pick up the bags and now the carousels are overloaded because the bags are coming to fast. Resulting in large amounts of bags that are missing their flights. At $75 per missed bag and a pissed off customer.

Have you guys EVER heard about "Injury on Duty".....or WORKERS COMPENSATION" ?????

Or how about a STOP button?
Yeah I agree. Now get this one. TSA just started their in line screening system and the county took over maintenence of the entire belt systems for all airlines. They Installed cameras in each zone of the bag room and all employees were told not to use the stop button at all and then was later clarified for emergencies only.

geez. easier said than done. It will happen though...

You guys at WN probably have a more "caring" staff than we do. A friend of mine got a spine injury on the job (what else? lifting bags) and the manager "DEMANDED" that he come back to work.
Came back to work, he herniated 2 disks and is in pain every day. Surgery didn't help either.

WOW, usually the managers will give people a few days to recover but this guy DEMANDED he come back to work. WOW

We had those people here in MX. They are here to effeciently take your overtime away.

Ramper they screwed things up in PHX big time. I feel for you buddy I really do.
