Does anyone have an idea why the US discount rate for Thrifty would be higher than a regular web rate? I compared both rates and a regular web rate was 35.62/day I entered the US corp discount rate and it was 55.00/day....

Parker gets a kick-back?

Lately I have been finding street hotel rates (Specials) have been cheaper then the airline discount rates. I always price things as a normal person and then try for the Airline, AAA, etc discounts.

Airline rates are pretty bad lately.

I use a site called "Rental Car Momma", it utilizes the lowest prices from a variety of codes.

But, even if you find a great deal like 15 bucks a day in SAN, you still have to pay a 10 dollar "facility" charge, and some cities will nick you for a "Tourism tax"

If your looking for cheap car rentals try www.carRentals.com I use them every time I need a car in PHX usually I rent from FOX car rentals nice cars great rates the thing I like best is it shows you the complete total cost and if you need to change because you found the rate went down you can do it no problem.  They don't have deals in every city so check out the website if they are in a market you are traveling too.HPMKE

You can join AARP at age 50, whether retired or not.

50 is not so old, and I hope it happens to you. The alternative is not quite as pretty as 50.
Yes. I hope I turn 50......someday. I do agree the alternative is not so pretty but dont rush me! Harry is a friend so I hope you all know that I was truly only kidding. I hope we ALLl live long and prosper! Mama

I priced my own on Priceline and got a fantastic rate...Never realized how fast an Impala SS is.. 😀

I don't think that this problem is unique to US: I can usually do better with the AAA rate or some other discount code than with my company's corporate discount.
