What's new

Republican controlled house says.."DEFUND Obamacare, or we're SHUTTING the GOVT. DOWN "

B tW DellKnot,

Copy/paste is a tool for most. Useful for quoting a source, or avoiding retyping/paraphrasing already published material.

Or it cam be a crutch for those with nothing of their own to say.

There is a difference.

Those with impaired critical thinking skills, or impaired discernment, who can't think of anything real to say to substantiate their own copy/paste thread starting posts, sometimes resort to criticizing other posters for using the tool, rather than defending their own work with their own thoughts.

Intelligent, huh folks?

The last I checked, military personnel, including Military Chaplains, were being paid, as are 80% of the federal staff. It's not really a government shutdown so to say. Like Sequestration, Obama decides to throw a little childish hissy fit and makes life as hard as possible for all taxpayers just to get his way.

You lose.

Oh but it does! What part of "the Establishment Cause is the first of several pronouncements in the First Amendment to the United States Constitution that states Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion" don't you get?

You lose.

Poor little baby! You got exactly what you deserve! I call it an old fashion smack down. You really didn't think I was going to let you get away with the comment about me blowing smoke up your ass did you? My point, since it seems to have gone completely over your head, is that you should read carefully what you so hastily copy and paste. Each of the 4 items I replied to KCFlyer's post with encompass what is established in Establishment Cause.

Isn't it time for you to log off and let Ms Tree log in so you can uptick your own posts?

The establishment clause of the COTUS specifies that laws must apply equally to all people in the US. It in no way guarantees the right of military personal to have a chaplain. The US code you cited must abide by the COTUS, not the other way around and as far as the appellate court was concerned it did.

FWIW,

ACA is not govt health care

It is health insurance legislation

Without it, something close to half the American people already got their care paid for, or heavily subsidized by, the government.

(Medicare, medicaid primarily. TriCare, etc., for the rest...)

All of it is constitutional, under the "provide for the general welfare" clause.

Just as the gov't paying for military chaplains is authorized under the " provide for the common defense" clause. (Not unfer the establishment or free exercise clauses, Dell...)

Same extension of powers. Neither is specifically authorized or required by the Constitution specifically, but authorized by legislation passed by Congress, using the powers and process provided for in the constitution.
Nope, nothing you said is even close to being the truth. Not. Even. Close.

It has now crossed over from being merely Dellusionial, to creating It's own alternate reality, where It defines that things are as It would like them to be, and Every One Else is just too stupid, blind, liberal and/or godless to see It's truth.

Cue theme to Mayberry, RFD on three....

Then show us what health care the ACA (obama care) creates...please

Thanks, show me a link to buy "obama care"
What in the hell are you talking about? Of course Obamacare didn't create health insurance! Once the first penalty tax is paid for not complying with the individual mandate, off we go to the COTUS. I repeat, Obamacare is not settled law.

It,

What are you talking about?

Creating arguments against your alternate reality so that you can argue with yourself?

No one said it created health insurance

It consists of (more...) health insurance regulation

It also did not create, and does not provide "government health care"

It does, in some cases, provide subsidies so that people can buy health insurance from private insurance companies.

If you would rather they die, say so, ( then we will all know just what being a "Christian nation" means to It... )but don't make up stupid crap to argue about.

Nice substantive response.

Statement below made when the debt ceiling was 8 trillion..............just 7 years later, we're at almost 17 trillion!

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. government can’t pay its own bills. ... I therefore intend to oppose the effort to increase America’s debt limit.”
