Republican controlled house says.."DEFUND Obamacare, or we're SHUTTING the GOVT. DOWN "

Clearly it is the Republicans' fault for not voting to "fix" this mess. No blame whatsoever on the people who actually voted it into law.

When Obama met with the House Republicans, how many of their suggestions did he embrace and integrate into the bill? Where is the proposed legislation from the Senate to amend the ACA and its major problems?

Democrats dropped single payer or public option because they couldn't get a majority of their own party to support either and knew the electoral damage could lose them both houses.

This is a Democratic bill. If it hurts consumers, it is because Democrats have hurt consumers. If it fails, it is because Democrats crafted the law imperfectly. The Republicans have had no hand in creating or passing the law, so they have no responsibility in trying to see it succeed or even moving out of its way to not block it from succeeding. The ACA is passed and any failings are solely at the feet of those who had written and passed the legislation.

If any of your wild concoctions of plans are only successful if you have my full cooperation and that I behave in a very specific and particular manner, than your plan was doomed from its onset... And dumb to begin with.

Really? Republicans have ideas for health care reform? What bills did they put forth for a vote when they had full control over Congress and the WH for 4 years? The only contributions the GOP has been willing to make over the last 6 years is "no".

Keep saying it's the Dems fault. Perhaps if you say it enough times someone will believe you. The Republicans have control over the House and have had control for nearly 4 years now. How many bills have they passed with their version of health care reform? I know they have voted 41 times against ACA but how many times have they voted for their own health care reform? Is that the Dem minority's fault as well?

The GOP is doing everything in it's power to make the ACA fail and nothing to come up with an alternative or a fix. NOTHING. Not a single bill has been passed by the GOP in the House with their own idea. That is what the GOP will be remembered for. The GOP's only hope is that no one remembers this BS come 2014 other wise you might be in the minority yet again.

Bullshiit.....some 23 alternatives were submitted and rejected by the democrat controlled houses and rammed through without regard to the objections to the American people.

Explain that away.

The Dems control the Senate not the house. They have had control of the house for the last 3 plus years and have not passed a single bill reforming the health care system. You wold think if they had 23 alternatives to the ACA when they did not have control of the House that they might propose them again in a situation where they might pass. But alas they do not do that. They just vote 41 times against the ACA. Pretty much defines the party of "no".

Not that I really expected a Democrat to accept responsibility for anything, but let me remind you that this mess of a healthcare plan did not get one Republican vote . . not one! This was a bill passed by reconciliation and written by insurance lobbyist and you expected what? You will not get my support or cooperation to "fix" your problem. But, by all means keep telling yourself the Democrats are not to blame.

What's to fix? It's a wonderful plan. Remember?

Not that I would expect a republican to actually come up with a plan of their own but there has still not been a single republican vote, not one for a bill in the House that they came up with.

In a few days there will be some wonderful healthcare plans available that cover pre-existing medical conditions with wonderful, prompt service provided by highly trained interns located just hours away from your home for the low monthly premium of around $450 with a mere $5000 out of pocket expense limit and low, rock bottom $2500 deductibles. Once you pay up, you are free to schedule next years physical (act fast as all cost are subject to change and some services may not be available). Note: some medical procedures (x-rays and rectal exams) may be provided by your local, well staffed TSA department.

Don't forget to thank (major credit cards accepted, no ID required) your local DNC headquarters.

And all the republicans can do is vote 41 times to say NO. Not a single vote for an original idea of their own. Pretty much defines the GOP. Just say no. Hmmm. That sounds familiar. I can't place it but I think I heard that before and I am pretty sure it was linked to another failed GOP idea. I guess you guys don't learn from history.

Good perspective Sir. You already made a claim to another poster to do some investigation to the topic. Very well.

For some incredibly strange reason, you neglected to realize when the ACA was passed, Dems controlled both houses and that was when the GOP presented any alternative, which was turned down every time.

You lamely, and from behind your skirt, attempt to brush this off on the GOP. You have some wisdom that GOP would proffer changes to a law already passed by both houses and signed into law and held Constitutional by the Supreme Court?

I have been talking about the 3 plus years since the GOP took the House, not while the Dems were in control of the House in 2010. They have yet to pass a single bill with any reform ideas. Yet some how manage to find the time to vote against ACA 41 times.

So if these ideas were so good in 2008/9 why are they not good enough now. May be there was a reason they were not considered the first time? May be there is a reason why the GOP lead House has not voted on a single one of their ideas for the past three years.

No chance they might get enough help from the Senate?

After all, whose to blame for Obamacare?

That never stopped them from voting 41 times against ACA. Why on earth would they be worried about that when it comes to bring an alternative idea to the floor? Sorry but that dog won't hunt.

And they could get enough support in the Senate?
That is the answer as to why or why not that you can not grasp.

G'Day, mate.

Whether or not they get support is irrelevant. They could not get support the support for the 421 times they voted against ACA and that did not stop them. They could not find the time to vote one time for an idea of their own? They found the time to vote for the latest budget that would not get any support in the Senate. So it seem that your theory about the GOP not voting on bills that have no support in the Senate has no legs.

No, you explain. This isnt faux news, we expect some data backing up your claims.
