I have been contacted by several AMT's at US Airways asking for assistance in getting an AMFA drive started there.

I will not disclose sources or details of those communications but would like to see how many AMT's from US Airways frequent this forum and ask that you express your opinion about this idea here.

What say you?

Thanks

AMFA has never been successful at US in their drives, and I doubt the membership wants to lose their IAMNPF.

Wow, you mean they are held hostage into a Union they do not want by a pension plan?
What a great tool for a worthless industrial union to have.

Not want?

So your saying all 4,000 M&R want amfa?

AMFA has never been successful at raid here, been tried several times, the ibt failed also.

So I request that AMT's give me their opinions, and you the stock clerk show up to proclaim failure before the opinions are even offered. I have no idea what they want. That was the purpose of the thread before the stock clerk hijacked this one like so many others you have done that same too.

At US Stock Clerks are on the same CBA and class and craft as mechanics.

So what you have no vote in any M&R NMB Election, which again, is, er uh, was the intended discussion here.
But don't let the facts get in your way. Keep hijacking so you can feel important.

And a welder from AA has a vote at US?

Nope.

Shouldnt you be more concerned about helping at AA, since none of you are happy with the TWU?

Fair enough,
I will return to private communications with those seeking change and blindside your ass.

No need to do that.

Many things have changed since 700 used to work here and we were the "fighting machinists". Now we have become tired and apathetic and our voices have become silent.

But many want change. True, AMFA has failed here in the past and now with the IAMNPF, it may be harder in the future to invoke a change.

But who knows? If there is a merger, everything will be on the table. Give it time.

I would support a AMFA drive here at US Airways. I like the fact everything is open at the negotiation table. I am Ex NWA and people need to educated on the facts about what happen at NWA.

I'm a 10 year mechanic with US Airways and I'm very happy with them. I had 11 years with them at TWA also and no problems with them. I was with the IBT at America West for 3 years and didn't care for them and I Was at AA for 3years with The TWU and they were the worst of the 3 unions...I do not have any issues with the IAM so I would not vote for AMFA. There's an old saying we all know very well as mechanics. If it ain't broke don't fix it....Therevis nothing wrong with the IAM and your right the IAMNPF is 1 of the best in our industry if not The Best...GO IAM
