Request for AMFA drive at US Airways

It wont go anywhere, if the IAM goes so does the pension.

You won't lose the pension, you'll only stop accruing the benefit.

Try looking on page 10 of the "Summary Plan Description 2012.

Here is a cut and paste:

When You Can Lose Vesting Service or
Credited Service
You can lose your vesting service and credited service if
you have a permanent break in service. However, once
you are vested, you cannot lose your vesting service,
future service credit, or your right to a pension from
the National Pension Plan. See page 8 to determine
when you are vested.

As of now (2012), the pension is worth $369.51 to a Mechanic; $269.57 to a Stock Clerk; and $214.99 to a Utility. Not a game changer in most cases.

But sadly, if we were to change our union representation, you would not be able to collect the IAM Pension because you still work in the industry. But once you are vested, as most are now, you will still get the money you have earned so far when you retire, regardless of our union representation.

Have the teamsters put up any sort of website for the supposed US Airways drive?

Yes they have. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't see it with my own eyes. Actual Teamster flyers posted.

The site they posted was:

www.usairteam.org
