Have a question - I made air reservations last January, PIT to BOS roundtrip - and am always sure to check what aircraft is being used. This being due to my not liking small jets - so I specifically chose the flights I had. Now I have received a "revised itinerary" stating this roundtrip ticket has been changed to use a 50 passenger jet - not the 150 passenger one I booked. Do I have any recourse in canceling without penalty for a full credit as I would not have chosen this aircraft period. Thanks - always a confusing matter.

At the ATO we were always told that if you were booked on a Propeller aircraft then we could change your ticket or refund it without problem. The same "should" apply to you in this situation. It is a no brainer. Which is the problem at US, No brains at the top.

Unacceptable Schedule Change ... Jet to Exspress/// FULL REFUND give us a call!

Just call reservations and advise them that the "revised itinerary" is not suitable for you due to the equipment substitution using the ERJ/CRJ.

Although you didn't specify what dates you were ticketed for in your post; the current schedule for the PIT-BOS route shows equipment using A319, B733 and the regional jets.

Ask reservation to change your itinerary to suit your preference of jet service. This is not a problem as it is an involuntary change due to the aircraft equipment substition. There will not be a change fee or penalty. NO PROBLEM.

Will it really kill you to have to sit in an RJ for like 1hr and some change? At least on an RJ you aren't stuck in a middle seat between two fat people.

Piney,
It is getting harder and harder to avoid flights on RJ's anymore. At some point of your trip, if you fly a major most segments are on an RJ. I'm so sick of passengers looking me in the face when they board my aircraft like it is my fault that DL is using an RJ to Fort Wayne.

Hey - I'm in Pittsburgh and I have truly sympathized and supported US AIR, as many friends and neighbors work there......even to the tune of having to pay $750.00 for a direct flight for my elderly mother to Myrtle Beach a few years ago! So I did pay MORE for my DIRECT flights to Boston......The regionals, at the time of my booking, did not provide service for the direct routes. So, Miss BMIBABYgirl737 (I did note the 737, not regional !) no it wouldn't kill me - but the point is when you think you are paying boo coo bucks for your choice... which has many timely issues (rental car, hockey tournament....etc) I find it unacceptable. Those passengers not researching the equipment prior to their flight, well, that's their fault. Thanks to all for your "helpful" advice, I'll let you know how it fares!

Wow- Kudo's to US Airways Customer Service/reservationist - "Kevin" ! ---------------------Called in this evening....waited 29 minutes on the recorded message circuit - Kevin answered and I explained I had a confirmation number and due to a recent schedule and aircraft substitution the flights would not be acceptable. He merely responded, "let me look that up"......"oh yes, there has been a regional replacement".. and that he would credit the full amount back to my credit card." Considering the timing, the trip was from July 3 - 11th - I'm sure the cost is astronomical - and crazy times for connections - so a nice drive might be in order! What a pleasant surprise! We've lost a neighbor that is a pilot, his wife used to head the flight attendants whatever.......other pilots reduced to medical helicopter runs....friends at the Greentree reservation center - so I certainly hope things can be done in a way to help all of you affected. You're great people, the true workers that made it work! God Bless You All.

Glad you got helped to you satisfaction. Just FYI: You can always request and get a refund to the form of payment if you are affected by a schedule change that in not acceptable. Did you check to see if you could rebook on another flight or did you just want to cancel? Sorry you had to wait to get an rep, but we were slammed today in res....

Thanks NoName.........the message did say because of the bad weather in areas.....etc., so I knew I'd have a long wait! It was worth it. Unfortunately the connection times just didn't work - and most would be picked up by one of the regionals! Thanks for the correct information!
