What's new

Ronald Reagan

Nope, not there...Keep looking...

This one?

George Washington, Tommy Jefferson to name a few.

I'm inclined o agree with this. Seems from what I have read, being in politics then was still considered a civil service rather than a 'career'. They seemed to have the countries interest at heart verses their own.

Yeah thanks to ronnie raygun I cant collect social security fully till I am 67, just what I want to do is work till I am that old.

Please explain what Bonzo did to affect your full benefit age? For years we have heard of a possible social security collapse and how no president really wanted to 'fix it'!

I blame the retired who continue to work. The retired who are healthier live longer thus collecting longer from the system. You may be a 'baby-boomer' but if you're at the tail end, you are proverbially screwed!

It gets more complicated when you add in the fact that your SSI payment isn't for your SSI but rather you are paying for the currently permanently retired! Being a 'BB', Gen Y isn't going to keep up.

Social Security much like Socialism and Communism was never meant to succeed.

Libtards only wish they had a legend that is Reagan. But no. Instead they have this:

Why even botherto post a picture like this? There are pictures of GWB holding hands with the crown prince of Saudi Arabia like they are on their way to a civil union ceremony.

Don't feel bad, Pal....I got to wait until I'm 66.

Here's the dirty SOB's who conspired to screw you until you're 67:

National Commission on Social Security Reform
(aka The Greenspan Commission)

Here's the vote tally in Congress for the 1983 law. People like to blame Reagan for it but forget that Congress is the one that sent it to his desk. Given the current fiscal situation there might be even more changes to social security in the near future. Although the present Congress seems to be unwilling to take the issue head on.

That's why I plan my retirement under the assumption that social security will either not be around or my benefits will be a lot less than my current SSI stament says.

He was the worst president of my lifetime so far! Ronnie's frst order of business was hitting my livelihood where I lived. His first cuts came to the mental health profession. I lost my job thanks to Reagaan and struggled during his years as president.

Ever hear of a guy named LBJ? He commited hundreds of thousands of US troops to combat based on two incidents the first being relatively minor and the second not having happened at all. End result, 58000 names on a wall in D.C. and god knows how many dead Vietnamese. In my book that's a lot more serious than your livelihood, my livelihood or anyone's livelihood.

Wow! Where did that come from? I'm talking about the eliminate my field of study in college and suddenly I'm listening to 'The End' by The Doors 🙄

I am pretty sure I moved on and got over it!

The fact is that it was Golden Boy Kennedy that committed the troops when he took the war from the French. If he wasn't assassinated he probably would have sent more!

I grew up around Vietnam veterans and I've seen the good, bad and ugly of it. Some stories you won't read in history books. I've known both the mamma's boys that hung ouyt with hookers in bars, and true heroes that did what they had to. I've worked with a true American hero that earned the highest honors for his service including the Navy Cross...since I'm having trouble with the link button check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Navy_Cross B)

He knew he was fighting a useless war...he claimed it was to protect the rubber trees for Michelin tires  ...but he still did what he had to do. He has friends in high places...senators and congress men..and one he saved from the vc!

Don't get me going on Vietnam, but let's get the real stories straight. Something about me that may shock most....I'm a registered Republican but vote for the candidate and not the party.
