Rotary Vs Fixed

Hi Guys,

I posted this topic on another forum but got zilch. Now that I think about it, I should have posted here in the first place! Anyway, here goes...

Just wondering if Canadian helicopter operators can count a person's fixed wing hours towards their helicopter operation's insurance requirements. I have a chance to do some "sponsored hours" (I'm out of the rotary job pool until next year) and you obviously get more bang for the buck when flying a plane. So, stick with helo or get 4 times as much fixed?

Thanks!

Hi Don. I'm thinkin you're not getting a lot of response here because no one knows. Try contacting an insurance company rep direct for the real goods. My guess is probably not, because insurance companys always seem to take the ultra conservative route when underwriting. Good luck.

Cheers Deuce, I just figured I'd try the lazy way! I thought there'd be a few guys lurking around who might have done the leg work when shopping around for their licences or way to build time.
