Is it true "the Flu" has hit Dallas really hard this Christmas...I can say for sure there are quite a few sick here in NY.

What Unity?

I don't know about Dallas, but the Urgent Care Centers and Emergency Rooms have been packed all weekend around the Tulsa area.

Anyone remember the RF code to check the sick list totals? ORD on the 24th was a little crazy, although I have no idea what the numbers were. Although I DO know some flights were canceled for "crew issues". My commuter flight home left an hour late with a totally new crew. One reserve and 2 reassigned. They went through a few refused reassignment people before 2 showed up.

RF 9999 code is no longer. F/A sick on 12/25 was aprox 1700 from what I last heard.

As someone who worked all through Christmas..let me tell you what I think. Those flight attendants who called in sick who were not really sick have made life hell for your fellow workers! On the transcons there are flights going out with 4 and 5 f/a's on a 767-200. My friend who was non-reving from jfk -lax worked the flight ON HIS OWN TIME because there were only 5 f/a..1 in first, 3in b/c, and only one in coach for 123 people. He told me he couldn't sit there on a jumpseat while his fellow employees were working there buts off. He did this after having worked a STT turn out of Jfk which is a 10 hour turn. I was so proud of him. That's the true christmas spirit of giving! I have to go now and work my 757 transcon with 4 people. Merry Christmas and thank you to all those employees who showed up for work!

Every year at this time we get this same stupid, whiney, thread.

It obviously wasn't stupid enough for you to pass over it.

15 cxlns 24Dec
69 cxlns 25Dec

almost all dom flts
all due no f/a's

countless f/a's reassigned upon arrvl base. 🙁

Keep in mind, employee morale will worsen as we approach the "PAYDAY" for management to receive their bonuses.

AArogant management are preparing to receive their checks and already visiting the local Yacht and Mercedes Benz dealerships! This is the same management that will tell you that these payouts are well deserved and in line with the rest of corporate America. They will tell you that these payouts are "contractual" and cannot be altered or revoked.
But they had no problem threatening bankruptcy so the unions would drastically alter their contracts.

I completely agree with you, Jersey. The ones who call in Sick over Christmas, but who are not sick, think they are screwing the company, but they are, in reality, screwing over their coworkers.

Disgusting.

So let's continue to give the company 110% so the stock rises and the greedy management can earn millions more in bonus money! Although I sympathize with the passengers being affected by staffing shortages, there is no other way to show the greedy AA management our discontent.

These greedy S.O.B.'s are getting ready to share in a massive payout while reminding all the workers how lucky we are to just have a job!

I remember commuting home <TWA> and I was on the jump seat a full L1011 from STL-MIA. The crew had a full hot lunch service and they were short crew. I asked the FSM <purser> if I could help and she thanked me and told me no. Her answer was that it was the companies fault and I would not be covered if I was injured....and if the service fell apart, oh well.

I returned to my J/S in E zone and after awhile I looked out the window and realized we were just about to pass over TPA. Most of Y still had trays and the pick up service was just starting and you have about 30 minutes left. I decided this was a safety issue and grabbed a empty meal cart and helped the back end finish picking up. On the L10ll all the carts had to stowed in the lower galley. You would think that the FSM would notify the C/P that they were not ready...but noooo. If I had not assisted this would had been a mess. The other f/a's thanked me, but I was admonished by the FSM. That ended my assisting while off duty. 🙁

Would you feel the same way if you had to spend an extra day or two away from your family over xmas because of someone 'sending a message'?
