Of course, where else would a contagious illness begin to occur in the US? At a airport ...duh. But this is why I know the swine flu isnt serious, there would be a lot more sick ramp guys if swine flu was a real threat. Ramp service work is tough physical skilled and trained work that is performed mostly outside in the elements working together with a crew for 8 1/2 working hours at 8 hours of pay lifting 100# bag after heavy bag with freight and mail in a small pit of a airplane. Click the link below for the flu story also with a paragraph about the flu from the article

The swine flu, also known as the H1N1 virus, mimics regular flu symptoms and hasn't been linked to many deaths in the U.S. Still, its rapid spread has raised concern for some airline workers who come into constant contact with people on the job.

Watch IMO this poor ramp guy who probably has 20+ years handling bags at the co and now is seriously sick will propably still have the company issue him a proposed level 5 discharge for rule 32 because he was 'undependable'. Sad but true of how sometimes this IMO backwards-managed company unfairly treats their underpaid and dedicated but ill union employees.

Not to worry tho. UA ramp servicemen are tougher than lame a$$ swine flu. He'll be back at his job in no time and then be forever known in DEN as the Swine flu guy that no one wants to work in the pit with.
