Oprah Winfrey may have introduced Democrat Barack Obama to the women of America -- but the talkshow queen is not rushing to embrace the first woman on a Republican presidential ticket!

Dilemma

she'd probably be happy to put that clueless twit Nancy Pelosi on

Yet another example of right wing whining....

A few points to consider:

1) Oprah does NOT run a news program.
2) She owns the show and is not required to invite people that she doesn't want on the show.
3) She has instituted a self-imposed rule for the show and has stuck to it - no presidential candidates on the program once they've announced for office. (Obama's been on twice in the past...but not at all since he declared his candidacy.)
4) Despite the fact that she has publicly endorsed Obama for President, Oprah has stuck by that rule even though she certainly could decide to break her own rule to benefit the candidate she prefers.

Since she hasn't invited the candidate she supports, herself, to appear on the show...what makes the publicans think they are entitled to some sort of special privilege for their new golden, girl?

You're correct and even though she is in the tank for Obama I think it would be a smart move for her show, ratings wise that is. After all, what is she afraid of? So many celebs think Palin is such a poor choice that they should gleefully showing her to the public. Or maybe they think she may pose a threat to their chosen one.

Maybe she is just sticking by her original principles and not having any candidate on.

In your title you remarked, "Hope it isn't a White Thang." Oprah blocked one of the Supremes, Clarence Thomas, during his book tour. I suggest it is more of a politcal thing, rather than a "White Thang."

Don't suppose it had anything to do with being a conservative now do you?

I am actually looking forward to seeing this. I will be very curious to see if Oprah decides to lean more towards Obama or Palin, it is a very tough choice for her I would think. In the end, and this might be because of race but it is not being racists, I think Oprah will back Obama.
