Maybe she missed that class while she was visiting our North Korean allies.![]()
Because when you look at what she did in Alaska with the oil companies and the fact that every resident of AK gets a royalty check
Wow! I thought Alaskans got those royalty checks for many years. Didn't know that Palin started that program.
Of course, the Alaska Permanent Fund was established in 1976, when Sarah was 12 years old. And the first dividend checks were distributed when she was a senior in high school.
But, I have no doubt, she takes full credit for the entire thing. And morons like you proliferate that nonsense.

Windfall tax lets Alaska rake in billions from Big Oil
While Congress and the presidential candidates debate the wisdom of a windfall tax on oil companies, Alaska has already imposed one, hauling in billions of dollars in new revenue for the state treasury.

A wealthy state
Most of Alaska's oil production comes from land owned by the state — and leased to the oil companies that look for and extract the crude. But some of the most significant undeveloped resources are in areas owned by the federal government, such as the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge and federal waters in the outer continental shelf. Revenue from oil production there would go mostly to the U.S. Treasury, but the state could claim a small part of it, according to state Department of Revenue officials.
Alaska's oil windfallby the numbers
$6 billion
Estimated revenue collected by state of Alaska from new tax on oil profits this fiscal year.
$10 billion
Estimated total oil revenue collected by state this year (old plus new oil taxes).
$1,200
Special payment to each Alaskan resident this year from new oil tax.
$2,000
Estimated annual dividend each Alaskan will receive this year from oil-wealth savings account, not counting the new oil tax.
How the windfall tax works
The tax is imposed on the net profit earned on each barrel of oil pumped from state lands, after deducting costs for production and transportation.
The tax is set at its highest rate in Prudhoe Bay, where the state takes 25 percent of the net profit of a barrel when its price is at or below $52.
The percentage then escalates as oil prices rise over that benchmark.
Things worked out far differently in the GOP stronghold of Alaska, a state whose economic fate is closely tied to the oil industry.
Over the opposition of oil companies, Republican Gov. Sarah Palin and Alaska's Legislature last year approved a major increase in taxes on the oil industry — a step that has generated stunning new wealth for the state as oil prices soared.
No $5/Gallon gas with Palin unlike the current empty suit. Far as I'm concerned she can think Paul Revere warned the British all day everyday. Because when you look at what she did in Alaska with the oil companies and the fact that every resident of AK gets a royalty check compared to the buffoon currently in the White House throwing the economy into a tailspin by incurring unsustainable debt to pay back his supporters in the name of social justice
Can you guarantee that there will be no $5 a gallon gas under a President Plain? No you can't, to say otherwise is just plain delusional. If a President had the kind of control over oil prices you seem to think he has then there would have been no $4 a gallon gas in 2008 under Bush. Nor would there be high gas prices now under Obama.
If Palin were to become President in 2012 and let’s say Saudi Arabia would to erupt into civil war like Libya where to you think oil prices would go? What could President Palin do about it? A whole lot of nothing.
Thos oil royalty checks you speak of have nothing to do with Plain. They have been around for years in Alaska.
I observed a Wood at a Small distance, & made for that. When I got there, out Started Six officers, on Horse back, and orderd me to dismount;-one of them, who appeared to have the command, examined me, where I came from,& what my Name Was? I told him. it was Revere, he asked if it was Paul? I told him yes He asked me if I was an express? I answered in the afirmative. He demanded what time I left Boston? I told him; and aded, that their troops had catched aground in passing the River, and that There would be five hundred Americans there in a short time, for I had alarmed the Country all the way up. He imediately rode towards those who stoppd us, when all five of them came down upon a full gallop; one of them, whom I afterwards found to be Major Mitchel, of the 5th Regiment, Clapped his pistol to my head, called me by name, & told me he was going to ask me some questions, & if I did not give him true answers, he would blow my brains out. He then asked me similar questions to those above. He then orderd me to mount my Horse, after searching me for arms.He then orderd them to advance, & to lead me in front. When we got to the Road, they
turned down towards Lexington. When we had got about one Mile, the Major Rode up to the officer that was leading me, & told him to give me to the Sergeant. As soon as he took me, the Major orderd him, if I attempted to run, or any body insulted them, to blow my brains out. We rode till we got near Lexington Meeting-house, when the Militia fired a Voley of Guns, which appeared to alarm them very much.
The Redcoats had set temporary roadblocks as a security measure and on their way to Concord they encountered British soldiers. Prescott managed to escape; Revere was captured and Dawes tried to run away but was arrested shortly thereafter. The British held Revere and interrogated him with a pistol on his chest. He was asked about the plans of the militia and where they kept their ammunition. When asked where the Patriots were hiding he told them the truth and replied that they had 500 militiamen in Concord protecting them and 1500 coming. As they rode towards Concord he was told that if he tried to escape he would be shot.
