Scalia will have another opportunity to take a swipe at Obamacare later this week as well.

I totally agree with Scalia’s statement but I fear that his outburst will do more harm than good.

Representative King and others in Congress have already threatened to take Obama to court over the imposition of the DREAM act by executive fiat. Scalia has put himself in position for a recusal, since it’s pretty clear that he has a built-in bias on the specific issue.

I do not think Scalia is the best person to ask about what the Framers though. This is the guy who voted corporations as people.

Add to that the speeches that he gives which in many opinions are wholly inappropriate for a sitting justice.

I assume that Scalia is referring to Obamas decision not to deport children. I read an interesting opinion on this. The argument is that in order to have criminal proceedings levied against you you must have committed a crime. A minor brought into the country by ones parents did not commit a crime. They had no choice in the matter. I don't know if there has ever been a court case but I think the outcome would be pretty interesting. How do you convict a child of a crime they did not commit?

Now I know since I'm a liberal this is all just poppy cock so …....

By passing a state immigration law, he added, Arizona had “moved to protect its sovereignty — not in contradiction of federal law, but in complete compliance with it.”

But, “if securing its territory in this fashion is not within the power of Arizona, we should cease referring to it as a sovereign state.”

I agree with Scalia and since I live in Arizona it is important to have a justice like him that will stand up for our sovereignty. If I have to clear Customs when I return from Mexico then everyone else should have to do the same. I obey Mexico's laws, fill out their entry forms and clear Customs when I visit. I leave my firearm at home because it is illegal to carry weapons across the border and could be put in a Mexican prison like other Americans being held today.

It goes both ways. Mexico has the right to enforce their laws and the United States should not trample on the rights of border states to enforce ours.

What kind of government aid do you get, while in Mexico ? Do you vote in their elections while there ? Do you work and take jobs from native Mexicans while there ?

I like your sarcasm.

I recently flew a trip to Mexico City. Had dinner at my favorite cafe, caught up with friends there returned to the Hilton Reforma, had a good night's sleep, flew back to Phoenix, cleared Customs and went home.

No matter which side you support, the public schism between POTUS and SCOTUS is not a good thing at all, be it this case or Justice Alito shaking his head and muttering during the State of the Union address.

Another instance of the worrisome polarization taking place in Washington, DC and the country as a whole.

We are polarized. I can point at Rep Frederica Wilson for stirring up race relations with making claims that Trayvon was hunted down like a rabid dog. I'd ask the Rep, who was doing the hunting? Al Sharpton answered the call.

I'm an independent. I vote for the person I feel is the best candidate. I was hoping Gen Colin Powell would have entered the race in 08. I would have voted for him as a Democrat, Republican or Tea Party candidate.

Obamacare....upheld

The decision is 110 pages, including the dissent, which was written together by Justices Scalia, Kennedy, Thomas and Alito.

I'll side with the dissenting judges and Scalia. Thumbs down on Obamare and new taxes.

Interesting out come. I would not have thought that Kennedy would dissent and that Roberts would vote for it.

Point noted. I'm sure George W is scratching his head. Who would of thought Roberts would be the swing vote? Not me..

I am also independent; in part because of my disgust over the never ending partisanship of the Republicrats and Democans.
