Seems heavy head winds forced DL 8872 carrying the Seahawks to make a fuel stop in MSP before continuing on to SEA.

Yep.. the crew dutied on at 0600 in ATL and flew the plane (ship 128) up there. They spent 3:19 on the ground in the turn, then 2 hours deicing and subsequently ran out of time. MSP was as far as they could get (hub wise) with their allowable duty day. It had nothing to do with payload or headwinds.
