Secure transactions on new website

People on FT have been asking this since the launch of the new site. One of our FFOCUS members emailed the web tech support on 6/12 as a followup to an email sent two weeks before. Her response as follows was received today (yes, to the 6/12 email)... and was the usual canned response...

So, can we get any straight answers from anyone on this? The following personal information sections of the new website are NOT SSL security-protected as follows (at least from what we can figure... no little locks and such):
