What's new

Seismic For Sale.

Hey Just and AME....if the Ex Heli-Max DOM gets all that then that's more than Lobster Boy gets.

Did Abishittee get a new DOM yet? Heard ex-was tired of bangin heads with mgmt on everything, and engineers getting burned by their only client all the time. Worked with their ex at previous co..he was excellent.

when one is given a job to do, I believe one will do their best to see that things get done in a timly manner and in a safe and cost effective way.. when one has
to try to get things done, and continously has their hands tied........ one can get
very upset and that's when sh*t hits the fan!! it usally is a chain of events that
make me finally loose it.. so just keep tying hands and watch people freek out..
that seems to be the A-i-i-i way...........

As long as company owners choose to base themselves thousands of kilometers from the hangar, and keep low-balling each other for seasonal and economy driven work this crap will continue.
This style of ownership has a pretty clear track record in Western Canada by now.
If you think you are going to join one of these companies to turn things around........Good Luck.

I heard the the Ex DOM from Mustang was taking over Abitbi's DOM position, I could be wrong. I think he'd be a good choice, but don't know if he'd handle more pressuer after leaving Mustang......just an unconfirmed rumor.

I can't agree more cyclic monkey, there are also a number of underlying factors but you pretty much hit the nail on the head. I enjoyed working more for a smaller company, except for 2 companies, Great Lakes Helicopters and Klondike/Kenting.

highbladedown : what made Klondike/kenting a good company? I have heard this from many others and on this site. There seems to be quite a few old timers that worked there still in the loop.

Hello MD….

Easy with the old-timer stuff…….LOL. Yes, I am still one of the old guys still in the loop. In my opinion we had a harmonious group at Klondike/Kenting, pilots got along engineers and vice versa, we had good parts people, a great overhaul staff and awesome avionics department. The DOM and Chief Pilot were great people to work for and with, the students we got in for training in most cases were good people and I can’t say enough about the quality of the instructors and in addition the equipment was in very good shape. Sure we had a few glitches, but the general consensus was fixing problems and not the blame. There were always after hours gatherings of some sort to keep moral high and keep people talking.

It was a good time and a good time was had by all…….at least it was one of the two companies I worked for that were people driven, even in the 70’s and into the early 80’s.

Hope this answers your question…..thanks for asking.

HBD……

Yes, Abitibi's Main Office is in Calgary, No, there is no DOM there yet! Chuckles, The last CE quit, he has some "homefront" issue's to tidy up! So the record is clear, Abitibi is not a newcomer to Alberta. They have been established here in AB since 1992.! Just keeping the FACTS straight.

Thanks T-TRex for the update, as a rumor I heard Martin Barrette ex MHI DOM went there as their DOM. He'd be a good selection I think........

Many thanks

T-Rex,

good to see you didn't die off with the other dinosaurs 😛 . Where have you been?

Thanks for the update, T-Rex. I liked the last guy and had worked with him previously...sorry to hear about the homefront issues, but haven't we all run into those now and then...
