As did WN and NW got rid of the criminals known as the ibt.

The union taken over by the government cause it is full of crooks.

If the ibt is so great, why were they VOTED OUT at WN?

And UPS outsources all their heavy mtc, they only have around 1,000 mechanics and related.

ibt = outsourcing, HP, CO, UP, and the WN CBA (now AMFA).

700 you may want to remove that shoe from your mouth before you start talking about who got voted out over at WN. The IAM used to represent the ramp at WN. The ramp rebelled and dumped the IAM. The rampers later formed an independant union and then they not to long ago affilated with the TWU.

Do you want any salt or pepper while you chew on it!

The IAM represents the Customer Service and Reservation Agents at WN still.

How does your shoe taste?

Would never eat my shoe it has something stuck to the bottom of it looks like a *Edited By Moderator* . I wonder what that is?

Docker tell me what if the IBT never "

Having been through all the ups and downs at US Airways the past 20 years while being represented by the IAM and looking at what we now have is sad I admit. But the back to back bankruptcies would have taken its toll on any representation. I know what we now have will continue to improve and I would still take what we have with the IAM over the IBT. You may be willing to give up what Heavy Maintenance we have left but I am not. Hopefully we can make some improvements within the transition agreement.

What part of the amount of work coming inhouse is the same either way don't you understand? This is your chance to get rid of them don't pass it up.

I Never Said I Wanted To Give Up Any Work We Do In House I Would Like To See More Come Back.

All I Want Is A Union That I Can Trust AND THE IAM IS NOT IT AS WE ALL CAN SEE.

I have over 25 years in Airline Aviation myself and have seen the IAM at work and the IBT at work and I WILL TAKE THE IBT ANY DAY.

In the past 20 years I've been represented by the IAM, the TWU and the IBT and IMO the IAM was by far the better union.

That's not saying much for the other Unions then..
The IAM was the only one that I was represented by, IF you can call it that. I along with MOST of my fellow employees were not at all impressed by them or their minimal amount of actions. For the entire term of my membership, I got ONE RAISE, followed by 3 rounds of concessions, and the end result of losing my job due to Outsourcing. My dues continued to rise, while my rate of pay took a nosedive to the level it was 20 years prior. Needless to say, Most of us suffered a great deal more with the IAM than we did without.....And yes, that includes what we in Fleet lost back in 92 before the IAM was voted in. I know the same old line of "What don't you understand about having a BK judge get involved in your contract" is lurking around the corner from 700 too..

You make it sound as if they once did all that work in house, but thats not the case. The fact is that the best paying cotracts in the industry for mechanics were put in place by the IBT. UPS mecahincs, all 1000 or so of them earn over $400/week more than USAIR mechanics.

From what I've been told the mechanics at SWA voted out the IBT because they wanted to be in a union that was for Aircraft mechanics. It was more personal preference than performance.

What boggles my mind is that despite all that we have gone through, and the despicable behavior of unions like the TWU and IAM that you cant see that radical change is needed. The IBT has not only indicated that they wish to change but they have acted on it by leaving the AFL-CIO along with a few other unions and form a new coalition. We know what we have does not work, and its not the members fault, its not the members themselves that need to change, we need to change leadership and structure. Sticking with the IAM is sticking with failure. The only ones that will benifit from that are those International officers who sit back collecting their six figure salaries that are funded by our dues.

Does anyone know if the twu membership is going to put up a fight to block the sellout by the twu? One way to be heard is to bombard the mnb with phone calls showing your disgust with the deal that was made. Another way is since the twu turned their backs on the HP membership, how is it that they are still expecting the membership to contiue paying them dues to represent you? Smells fishy to me. They can't represent you but they can sure take your money. Those are iam tactics for sure!

We ARE NOT living in the PAST or Dragging the Past Up We Are Living for the Future. We Are Hopefully living also for the now. So We In the West Have More Pay, Flexible 401k that we control,More Day's off,& We have not & can not Tell the Company what & How to run there Airlines. We Are Federally licensed AMT's & Are Responsible to the FAA for Our Job's(like the Pilot's) something you find Hard to understand, because all You & The IAM care about is NUMBER'S. Bring up Thing's that we are dealing with now not Year's ago we ARE TIRED OF HEARING, WHAT COULD HAVE & WHAT SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED.It is TIME to Start Living in the NOW TODAY not PRE-DAYS AGO WAY BACK WHEN I WAS YOUNG,WE ARE living for the May,2006,& BEYOND not FOURTY YEAR'S AGO.
