USAirways has signed a deal with Guestlogix so that Flight Attendants can now sell even more crap on board the aircraft. When will it stop?????

See the interview at Business News Network:

http://watch.bnn.ca/#clip91714

The president of Guestlogix calls the airline passenger the "captive consumer" who is bored and will buy a gift for their wife or girlfriend. How insulting to our customers.

I think you do what ever your company ask you to do, just like all other Americans.

I have yet to see an FA contract that states FAs are here only for safety and can do no other work. Might be great for you but that doesn't exist.
And what is the difference if you sell Broadway Tickets or Affinity Credit Cards or give free drinks or sell them. Why does any of that matter? Your in the tube for x amount of time might as well stay busy.

I think you should sell condoms and make the bathrooms bigger and market yourselves as the only airline that provides the opportunity to join the mile high club. hahaha....

lol 2 funny IS.

Also, he said, specifically, that GuestLogix gets a % of onboard of "everything" sold ... including pop (soda) Are they providing the handhelds that we are soon to get?

I had to listen to it twice, but he does indeed say that "everything we sell, Guestlogix gets a percentage".

Update my own post, and they ARE the company providing devices .... if they stay in business. their stock was trading at .53/share.

Think of the money they could get for "Mile High Dividend Miles". Rent the "lav" in 30 minute increments for $200 each. Wonder if the F/A's would complain about cleaning up between sessions?
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwww and what about all those forest bugs we spoke of in the other thread? Gosh, what a glamorous industry!!

But do we earn Dividend Miles? 5 miles per $ spent? Does the "get-it-on" fee get waived for CP's and PP's?

All jokes aside. The Broadway ticket thing gets a little complicated. They don'' update the system/inventory in-flight but only on the ground, so what if they have 3 tickets? On US1558 people get 2 tickets, and on US258 people buy 3. Both flights are in the air at the same time. That's 5 tix for only 3 spaces left. Once they connect the systems on the ground to update as the guy said, it turns out, that what- people who have confirmed tickets will not be let in? And didn't the guy say the tickets are printed on-board. So basically 5 people will brawl for 3 seats on opening night? LOL!

😱 🙄 Yes are are right on ! Face it if the f/a's dont start doing SOMETHING inflight to generate revenue US and other ailrines will cut their pay. Just WAIT for the next round of contract negotiations. You cant sit on the j/s reading magazines all day and expect to keep your pay the same. Its just NOT the way it works. WAKE up Folks...ur a workin slob like the rest of America.

Just like the military. Hoo, boy. What a world we are coming to. BTW, I heard serfs do that too. Does that make serfs american?

Gosh, I don't see that in the pilot contract.<<<!>>>> Should then, pilots sell drinks? After all, the latest Temple City policy is that if there is an IRO, then the flight attendants can work eighteen hours instead of sixteen, the IRO's apron, I presume, will be paid for by this moronic corporation.

Sorry, sonny. I expect the FAs on my crew to pay attention to what is going on around and within that "tube". They are the first line of defense and probable best early warning "detectors" of potential problems the airline has. Distracting them by hawking junk to passengers does not allow them to do their jobs, among which is to "protect" the cockpit.

and, you try "staying busy" for an eleven hour leg, scheduled. I bet you would be crying on your knees after five hours.

No wonder the acolytes of Temple City have no idea what is going on........
