Boston Herald story

Once Coleman gives up his endless appeals in Minnesota and comes to the reality that he lost and Franken is seated, Dems will have a 60-seat (aka, a filibuster-proof) majority.

It's all over CNN right now.

I do not think that is a good thing. There needs to be a check/balance thing going on. The republicans need to get their crap together. I have no interest in them being in the minority, but they at least need to be an effective opposition which they are not capable of doing right now.

Spector may have just opened the door for Rick Santorum to try and run for Senate again...

I think it's a dangerous thing for either party to get a fillibuster proff majority in the Senate. On the other hand it seems that Democrats spend almost as much time fighting amongst themselves as they do Republicans.

thats right.

Arlen's defection is nothing more than political "SELF-PRESERVATION" and has nothing to do with doing what is right for the country !

Just goes to show you where the majority of politicians priorities lie, whether they're Repub. or Demorat !

politicians are like the three shell game.. (its more of a con game than magic trick) :disguise:

they just go to which ever party..they think they will have a better chance to be re-elected.

tsk..tsk..

I can't believe he admitted it that this was all done keep his job and stay in power. Typical politician. Boy, if I only had his retirement..................

I thought it was rather atypical. He actually told the truth. Kind of weird but some what refreshing.

Just another reason for term limits !

If the people want someone out of office, hey have the power of the vote. Term limits are a bad idea IMO. It circumvents the will of the people.

He rambled on in an interview last month on how it was so important for the 41 st GOP Senator to hold strong and stay.....keep the Dem's in check and so on.....
He said he was staying GOP for the party.....

I registered from Indy to Republican just to vote him out.
